Back and a question

Hi ladies! Breastfeeding is going great for the second time, little Gillian does have an upper lip tie like her sister does, but since she's getting plenty and her altered latch isn't causing me pain, we're not doing anything about it. I do have a question about thrush - Gillian's tounge is coated in white that can't rub off, which I know is a symptom, but I myself have no symptoms of thrush. Is it possible that either she has it without me having it, or that I have it and am asymptomatic?

Definitely possible. She could have just white tongue from your milk. Does she have any other spots in her mouth or lips?

No, its just her tounge.

I would think if it were thrush then you'd have some kind of symptom like pain or itching. Even if only a little. Is it patchy or thick?

It's fairly thick. Annabelle frequently had a milky tounge, and this is thicker than that. I agree, if it was thrush I should have some symptoms, but there is nothing.

I would think that she's OK if there's nothing else going on. Are you trying to wipe it clean every day? Maybe it's just building up?
