I feel bad for, and really admire all you ladies who pump while at work. I've never had to pump, except for outings and such, as I've been a SAHM for the past 6 years now. The times I have pumped I've hated it due to the incredible soreness I had in my nips for days afterward. And how long it took. I've never had to contend with doing it at work, people walking in on me (talk about performance anxiety!), or doing it 3x a day.
So no, I'm not getting tired to bf... but I have it so easy. Hats off to you girls - you really are going the extra mile for your LO's. ((hugs))
If I had to pump all day at work, that I would hate, But I havenot had the desire to wuit nursing, I love it, but have also been extrmely lucky to be home with my LO, I love the convenience of it, as I stopped nursing my DS at 5 weeks. cause I couldn't handle it anymore with him.............I applause you pumping mommies though, thats alot of work!
Does anyone notice that their LO has a preference for one boob over the other? Evan seems to prefer my left side over the right. Especially when we use the boppy, he seems to be able to get more comfortable on that side and def. nurses longer when he is on the left.
No, still feel like poo! I asked the pharmacist last night at WMT what would be safest to take and he only said Saline Nose Spray He said the sudafed and anything with a decongestant in it passes thru the milk and I would need to wait 3hrs before nursing again. And since I don't know when she'll wake up to eat, I didn't want to take that chance.
And Yes - Kaylin does prefer one side over the other. In fact, I produce more in my right which is also the one that she is always attached too.
I hate pumping too. It makes my nipples sore. I get so tired of it but I know that if I stop pumping during the day my supply will decrease and most likely won't have milk in the boobs to give her when I'm home. Plus I would miss BFing.
Emma prefers my right boob and it produces more.
And ugh.. yeah I get people knocking on my door too. My job has a "quite room" used for naps, cell phone calls and for me.. to pump. i have to take my 3 breaks at a different time than everyone else because every time i would go during regular break someone would be in there. But even though I go while others should be at their desks... I get people knocking. Recently someone jiggled the door and I said someone is in here... they jiggled again and i said it again. Silence for a bit.. a few mins later the door is unlocked and the security guard and some old lady came barging in. She had gone to get the security guard because "I thought someone had locked it by accident, i didn't hear anything" OMG...
Because when we lock the door from the inside... if we don't unlock it before we turn the nob it stays locked... shut the door and you've just locked everyone out of the room. KWIM.... but seriously... i yelled "I'm in here"
What's worse... is that I tend to carry my milk bags/bottles to the freezer... we have a community freezer/fridge and people see them in there... they know i pump... and yesterday a girl Moo'd at me. So rude.
