Seriously, you have contributed soooo much to their health and well being. Your little girls are so lucky! Most of us had a hard enough time with one, I can't imagine having to pump/produce enough for two! Plus the donating... you are an inspiration!!!
It will be nice to get my lunch hour back, but I know I'll feel that sense of "loss" as well. Truly bittersweet
We have 3 weeks left until we reach one FULL year of breastfeeding
Now for a down point...my supply is tanking! I can usually pump 14oz's between two pumps for the day...today, I've gotten 8 ounces. Kaylin still nurses thru the night which previously helped my supply. Maybe it's just the day and it'll come back up this week. Grr!
Honestly as sad as I'll be to quit giving BM...I am so incredibly done with worrying about if I'll have enough milk for the next day. And pumping. Done!
Rebecca, WOW only three weeks til one year....its so crazy...
I am still nursing Julianna most of the day....I was giving her bottles and weaning her off day nursing, But it was just to hard........on me.....And she got a really bad rash on her bottom, and It didn't go away, until one day when I nursed her the whole day and gave her no formula, or whole milk(and the whole milk was just a tiny bit at meals, But she never drank more than an ounce in a day. But the one day I nursed her the whole day, the next morning the rash was almost completly gone, And I've nursed her pretty much on demand since, But yesterday and the day before she had a couple bottles during the day, and then this morning boom, Really bad rash again.......Milk intolerance?? I'm not sure, I nused her all day today except tonight since DH put her to sleep, But I will nurse her completly all day and night tommorrow, and hopefully the rash disapears again.
YEAH Rebecca!!! Almost there!
Glad that you were able to clean up her rash Bonnie! This is my worry when I put the girls on whole milk, especially Brooke. She didn't like it when I drank milk at first (she is fine with it now). I just hope that they are ok because when we run out of frozen BM then we are done, but we still have a good bit in the freezer.
Thursday was my last day pumping! I am DONE!!!! I have mixed feelings about it. Glad to not be pumping anymore and always doing dishes, but sad that this part of there lives is over and they are growing up. Oh how I am SOOOOO not ready for them to turn one in less then two weeks
I know exactly how you feel Tara...and probably everybody else. I can't believe our LOs are going to be one soon! And I'm so ready to be done BFing but at the same time can't stand the thought of not doing it anymore.
We would really like to start trying for #3 but Violet is so clingy about BFing and still nurses at least 5 times a day and usually through most of the night. It's funny, with Ruby I was so adament about her stopping BFing at 1 year, and she was so much more independent, etc. It seems like with Violet I just can't believe she's one and even though I'm ready to be done...I'm not at the same time. Can you tell I'm an emotional wanderer today?!

Well, it looks like we will be a few weeks short of making the 12 month mark. I have been weaning Sam in hopes of helping me with a gyno issue. I was going to take it a little more slowly, but after getting down to 2 times a day and dropping my last domperidone pill, my supply is almost down to nothing. I have nursed him the last few times and he has gotten a little, but he's pretty much on whole milk now. It's sad, but it's okay. We probably won't be nursing at all by the weekend. It was a wonderful experience, though!
You did awesome, Ginny! Great job in making it to almost a year
I am curious to see how Sam is doing on the whole milk transition as well!
I am having some more supply issues...today I barely pumped 10 ounces. I really hope to make it another 3 weeks on only BM...I can do it! I've been dipping in my 'stash' all week. Maybe next week will be better..I hope!
Sam has had absolutely no problem with the whole milk. He has taken as much as 11 ounces in a day, but he doesn't always do that much. I think the pedi said 16, but I'm not sure if that was a goal or a limit. I guess I'll ask at his 12 mo. appt.
Rebecca, I have some left over fenugreek, blessed thistle, and domperidone. Would you like to have it? The dom is in 30 mg capsules, so you only take 3 per day. If you want it, pm me your address, and I'll send it to you.
