Tara, you crack me up! My breasts look like I remember my mother's did! LOL I used to be a 36C, went up to a 40D, and now my bras are a 38D. Not sure if they'll go back to a C, but I don't know if I'll be able to get back into the 36's since my rib cage definitely expanded (plus I still have a little flab on my back to get rid of!).
I've decided to stop pumping. And I'm also taking her cues w/ nursing. I'm so glad we've made it past the 1 year mark, but I'll be so sad when she decides to wean!
Well we're pretty much done nursing...I've been using the "Don't Offer, Don't Refuse" tactic and Kaylin has weaned herself. We were going 2-3x during the day + 2x overnight. About 4-5 days ago, she hasn't asked at all to nurse. The engorgement in pain SUCKS. It's mainly on my left side and I figured after almost a week if would be better. But it hurts to lay on my stomach, hurts to the touch, and is tingly during the day.
Anyone know of tricks to help?
How is everyone else doing?
Do you still have your pump? If you pump just enough to relieve the pressure, you won't be signaling to create more... Even just using your hand to express some should help! GL and big hugs!!!
Desiree's still nursing in the am and pm during the week. Weekends she may nurse here and there. I don't offer it during the day, but sometimes she just wants it!
How is Kay doing with cow's milk? Ev is loving it over the past week or so. We are doing the Horizon Organic Whole Milk and this morning he actually had 2 cups.
Good luck with the engorgement...luckily it hasn't been bad for me since Ev has been gradually cutting back.
She LOVES whole milk now, we also do the Horizon Organic + DHA. She'll drink several cups a day and usually one before bed. So Glad Ev likes it too!!
And I am with you - I felt sad for the first few days that Kay didn't nurse, but that feeling didn't last terribly long because I didn't have to worry about a kid attached to me! Lol.
Just when we thought we were off the hook...Ev had boobs on his mind and nothing else this morning! I am happy with the morning nursing and if he can get through the day with just that. Glad to hear Kay is liking cow's milk too! Ev had 2 cups yesterday morning and then didn't want his breakfast. This morning he chugged it like it was going out of style!
I found out that one of the mom's in my yoga class is still nursing her 3yo son. She was telling me that he freaks out if she doesn't nurse him first thing in the morning. Up until this week I could totally see Ev wanting to nurse forever and I know this sounds a little bit selfish but I am happy that we are making good progress in cutting back!
So sad to be done, but nice to get your boobies back Desiree's still going. Morning and night during the week, weekends we'll get a couple of extra sessions in still. If she wants it, she pretty much gets it... I'm hoping to keep up with the morning and night feeds until she's two~
