LOL floppy boobs here, I think I said this a while back but think footy socks with tennis balls in them!

Amanda, not sure if giving him a bottle would help with the falling alseep as Aaron will fall asleep mid bottle anyway, if he's sleepy then he's sleepy! I'd rather much offer a bottle of something extra than letting them cry about it, so not worth it!

Meagan, that's a very interesting article!!

    Good news / bad news.

Good news - my little girl did AWESOME on our solo trip to St. Louis. Four hours in the car twice, and only a total of TEN MINUTES OF CRYING. She was also adorable at the two parties I went to St. Louis for...a 4 year olds birthday party and a baby shower.

Bad news - I am officially giving up on my baby being breastfed after this weekend. I'm hoping I can keep the early morning feeding, pump once at work, and then the night time top off. I'm going to continue taking Fenugreek, but I am done pumpig the other five sessions a day. I'm hoping if I don't pump those sessions, I'll have stuff for the baby twice a day. But if I don't, I don't.

All of my mom friends in St. Louis were so supportive. They saw how hard I was trying and reminded me what an awesome job I had done for three full months. They saw the sadness and stress it was causing me and reminded me of the big picture.

I'm excited to move onto the next chapter. I know other working moms with babies that sleep through the night (10 hours) and occasionally have a social life can make this work, but I just couldn't. I consider that three strikes against me. Those three strikes were just to much for my body to overcome. I still wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you for all your support, and wish me luck on keeping at LEAST the morning feed alive for awhile.

Jenny, I'm so proud of you for keeping up for 3 months! That is just awesome! And you are not "giving up" if you are stilll aiming for a few times a day.

It looks like we are heading there too. I'm still offering 5-6 times a day but she's now getting fussy at the breast 2-3 of those times. There's just hardly anything there for her. I just don't want to stop completely!

I don't see it as "giving up" either. We can't breast feed our kids forever can we? And we will all stop at different times that work out for us, our baby, and our family.

Jenny - I'm glad Raegan had a great time this weekend. What a great little car rider she is!! Gotta admit I'm a bit jealous of that! ha ha

I understand how frustrating pumping can be. I started pumping to prepare my body for when I go back to work (to see exactly how much milk I'll get at each pump). OWWWWIEEE!! My poor nips! When I breast feed Gabe at night I feel a little initial pain....since I have my nipples sucked by an unusual force all day. I've tried lowering the setting but I dont' get as much milk. So you take the good with the bad I guess.

Oh, and I don't BF Gabe much because of our schedule. We always do a before bedtime cluster feed though (he loves it). On the weekend we are on the go so much it has just been easier for us to pump. That way DH can help with feeds. He's also getting bigger and squirmier! ha ha So BF is an adventure when he's full of energy. (kicks and all) If I didn't have this darn nipple shield it wouldn't be a problem but the little man can't latch without it. So now when he kicks and moves the nipple shield loses grip (even when I'm holding onto it) and any milk that's in the shield spill. Not good!!!

Oh, and I've seen an increase in my milk this weekend. I've added oatmeal and a 1/2 bottle of beer to my diet. I know that it hasn't been proven that beer can increase milk supply, but I can only tell you what I changed this weekend.

You ladies are doing great! And personally I think 3 months is totally awesome. My ped says that in her mind if mommas can make it to 3 months she really feels the benefits are huge for baby - so WAY TO GO!!!!!!!

I too am trying to prepare for my return to work. I officially go back next week but I'll only work about 10 hours next week and take the rest sick time. I'll work 16 hours the following week and 24 the week after that. Starting Labor Day week I go back full time

I am preparing myself for the decrease in my already not so prolific milk production. I purchased a couple of cans of formula for about a month or so down the road when I run out of my freezer stores.

I'm just happy we've gone this long. It was really a struggle for like the first 8 to 10 weeks with the thrush and all. But so far Mason and I are pretty happy even though I hate the extra pumping.

Keep loving those babies and loving yourselves!

Ok, if I spent more time nursing in public I would definitely get one of those!!! I do ok with my udder cover for the maybe once a week or less I find myself in a public nursing situation. That will be even less now that I'll be going back to work.

But I love it and I'm sending the link to a friend of mine whose due any day now - she'll love it!!!

    cool hat

Well I really am beginning to NOT enjoy nursing Aaron anymore...he scratches me, hits me, wiggles, pulls if the letdown/flow isn't happening quick enough and he's a very vigorous eater!! I am sore again on my left side (as lefty isn't as powerful/plentiful) and he even chomped down yesterday, ouch!! I can't relax enough because he is forever moving or doing something while he's on there...I think he's got it too good with 1 bottle a day, he's fine when he has that, he sits still and puts his hands together like he's praying (God bless him!), I guess he doesn't have to work hard for the bottle...but 1 bottle a day isn't going to confuse him or interfere right? He is alson the type of baby who can't keep still, always kicking his legs, pumping those arms and at night when he sleeps all night, I hear him on the monitor moving all the time...but he stays in therw without a peep so I guess nothig is wrong...but I am really getting annoyed nursing him at the moment

Michelle - and I though Mason was the only one! He is so wiggly and difficult during some feedings it hurts almost as bad as week 1 !!! I can relate. He has only gotten 1 bottle a day for bed time until today. Today he'll get 3 since I'm at work. I'm hoping that he doesn't abandon the breast altogether but we'll have to see. My DS#1 had no trouble doing both just fine so I'm hoping we'll be ok.

Mason is like Aaron - kicky, punchy, wiggly, latching on off on off on off - ugh!!! Some times I almost give up on this. Other times he is ok and I love the close sweet moments. Hang in there, he's just adjusting again. Seems like constant adjustment the whole first year!

Is Miles the only one that is only eating off one side at a time still? I always offer him the 2nd side but he rarely takes it. I think he's taken both sides a total of 3 times in his short little life.
