I read in my copy of Making More Milk that studies have shown fenugreek lowers thyroid function in rats. I just finished out my bottle of fenugreek tablets (I'd been taking about 9 tablets/day in conjunction with 9 x 100 mg of domperidone) and I'm not sure that I want to buy anymore.
Have any of you experienced lower energy, lower metabolism, weight gain or other signs of lowered thyroid function while taking fenugreek over time?

Interesting. I have noticed that I've gained weight since I had Trystan, and I've been taking four pills per day to make sure my supply stays up. I'm not even sure if it's made a difference, as I was so paranoid about not being able to BF him that I pretty much started taking them ASAP. I'm not really watching what I eat, though, but my diet hasn't really changed from when I was pregnant with him... so maybe the pills are having something to do with it? Wonderful...

I used it daily for a year... and I cannot say I had ANY ill effects at all.. but like you, being on Domperidone that may have skewed any side effects there were. I think the higher prolactin levels kind of put you on a natural high, LOL!
I would like to caution though that you might find dropping the fenugreek will have a noticeable effect on supply. Whenever I ran out, I noticed a difference!!!
