I think my 14 month old dd is weaning herself. She is getting her molars so i dont know if this has something to do with it but she is pushing me away. We had been nursing 4 times a day and once at night for the longest time. Now she only nurses a few minutes in the am and sometimes not at all if she hears her brothers. Now today she pushed me away before her nap and last night she didnt want to nurse before bed. I know its better this way on her terms but i thought she would nurse longer. So she is nursing once or twice a day for for only a few minutes. I still feel my let down so i know i still have milk. Anyone else go through this? I always thought i was going to have to get her to just once a day at bedtime and then stop that around 2. I guess she has other plans.
I wouldn't worry. If you are still interested, just keep offering. With both kids I've seen them go through phases where they want to nurse all the time, and phases where they could care less. Although, if you feel like you want to take advantage of this situation to wean her, you can. Either way - WTG mommy!

I am hoping its just her teeth. I am going to keep offering her. Maybe she is just cutting back too. I guess 5x in a day may be alot now that she eats so well. If she is weaning i am so proud of us and making it 14 months. I didnt make it near this long with the boys.
14 months is awesome anyway you slice it! Just keep offering. Maybe increase the frequency you're offering. I bet you it's just her teeth. My DD still nurses like it's going out of style but boy do we get thrown for a loop when those teeth come in. She's cut 2 in the last week and I think like 4 more are on their way. She nursed fitfully last night and hasn't stayed latched for more than 2 minutes yet today. She typically goes about 3 hours between nursing sessions but I've been offering the boob constantly these last few days.
