    Congrats!!!!

I would def get other options about weaning so early. I would think you could go until your second trimester.

Not weird. I felt the exact same way. I got pregnant unexpectedly and was spotting (only 1 out of my 4 children I spotted with). I knew that if the pregnancy didn't work out DS1 was our last child and I did not want to wean only to have something happen with the pregnancy and then have to mourn 2 losses so to speak.

I will say that by the time I weaned DS1 I had no milk left so it might have made it easier but instead of nursing him to sleep I started just rocking him to sleep and that worked just fine. It was a much smoother transition than I had expected. I hope your new pregnancy is much easier than your first and you have a healthy little babe in 9 months

Congratulations on 20+ months of breastfeeding! You did a wonderful thing for Jordan, even if you didn't make it to your goal 2 years of breastfeeding.

Thank you all so much for the support. I've been reading your responses from my phone all this time. It's helpful to know that others understand that weaning can be an emotional thing.

I'm still nursing Jordan at nap time and bedtime. I'm only nursing on one side though, instead of both sides each time like before. She seems to have adjusted well. I think I will continue to nurse her through my first trimester like so many of you seemed to think would be okay. I have an OB appointment on Friday so I will discuss it with my doctor but I feel like I've sort of made up m mind that I will not stop ANY sooner.

I know I need to remember to be proud that we have made it this far. My first short term goal was one year and we made that goal. Then it was 18 months and we made it to that too. It doesn't look like we will make it to 2 but I will come to terms with it. Maybe I can even learn to appreciate the break before starting all over with a newborn? Maybe.
