been Mia (checking in)

Hi Ladies!

Sorry to have been MIA. Life's taken over over here. Smile

Evie is still nursing about 5 times in a 24 hour period, but totally on demand and does not nurse the same time(s) each day.

Still wakes most nights at least once and begs for "nōsses".

DH thinks I should stop nursing her now that she has a word for it and because I'm having very painful ovulations and bleeding mid cycle about 5 days before I ovulate.

I see my doc on Monday to make sure it's not endo on my ovaries or cysts (or fibroids) that need to be removed.

I am not eager to quit nursing and every time DH suggests it, I seem to want to nurse more frequently over the next few days. Lol

We hit the 20 month mark last Monday!! Yahoo

Congrats on 20 months!!!

I thought I was going to be able to announce that Aiden is finally 100% weaned, but he asked to BF twice last week. He's reaaaaaly slowing down again thankfully. I'm glad that we've had a long BFing relationship, but nursing another baby at the same time is too much at times for me. Plus his latch is awful! My husband thinks I should stop giving in, but I know I'm much happier in the long run knowing that it wasn't just me pushing it. Smile

Congrats on 20 months! I've been MIA too. We are almost at 18 months and about 5 times/24 hours too. Smile

Way to go, momma! We're still going, too. 21 months as of next weekend. I'm ok with stopping annnnytime now, but she is still so insistent on it. Some days it is twice, some days it is 5 times.

The other day her big sister was getting in her face while she was nursing and making her laugh, and she nearly bit me in the process. That made me consider weaning ASAP!

Do you think the nursing has anything to do with the painful ovulation/bleeding?

What a change a month will do... we are still nursing (21 months last Wednesday). Now, we are WAY more random... There are some days that I put her to bed and have to think if we nursed at all! But then there are other days where she's asking and I'm allowing it. I'm getting a little more selfish I think. If I don't feel like nursing her, I'll play the distraction card or substitute a sippy of soy milk (we don't to dairy). But some times, I'll not want to and she'll put up a hissy fit and then I allow her to after she's over the fit.

I'm not sure.

I had an u/s done that verified I had a ruptured functional cyst a week after I thought I ovulated last cycle. Then AF showed on time without the mid cycle bleeding. It could have been that I had a functional cyst from that first post partum ovulation, that "remained" so to speak and finally ruptured on it's own last cycle (the one proven by the u/s), but nothing looked abnormal during the scan, so we won't know. I'm due to ovulate currently and am only showing very MILD bloating and tenderness. I'm waiting for the next few days to see what is gonna happen (pain or no pain).

I was thinking of weaning before trying bcp's like my doc suggested to see if that would clear up the painful ovulations and then not even need to try bcp's (I go crazy on bcp's). Who knows.. maybe it's done now? We shall see. Biggrin
