I am Joee and just passed the 1 year mark of nursing with my (last) sweet baby boy Dalton!
A little history... I had breast augmentation WAY back in the day. Was not successful (did not put a whole lot of effort) into BF my first two babies. The third was different, I was determined, and I succeeded!
I have always had to supplement, despite being on every herb known to man and domperidone (max dose), pumping, nurse-in's, mastitis, thrush... but we never lost our groove!
So here I am today.. off all meds and herbs (weaned very slowly) and while my supply is tanked, he is still nursing as happily as ever, LOL...
At this point, I do not know how long my supply will hold out, or how long he will tolerate such a small amount of milk.. but I intend to let HIM tell ME when he is done He takes cows milk now in a bottle or sippy ... its really not much though. He is still more interested in his "milks." He also eats everything we hand him, so he is full blown table fed solids and then some
HI!!!!! I never EVER thought I would be posting here!!! Kinda feel.... cool....
Congratulations on a great accomplishment! And, as you're finding, nursing is about so much more than the milk. Those special snuggles are the best!
