    Default Weaning starting today

So, Evie will be 2 on August 29th.

I'm starting weaning today against hers and my wishes. I'm having health problems and when my dad took me to walk-in on Friday, they called an ambulance. It's looking pretty dire as far as breast feeding goes.

We made it a long way, and I'm happy to have given her all that I could.

She was only down to 2-3 times a day for about 2-5 minutes, so it's not like she was getting a WHOLE lot anyway anymore.

    Still kind of sad, though.

Four days in... This is hard on me.

We were nursing 2-3x a day for about 3 minutes at a time.... Now she's asking for it around 6 times a day... I hope she calms down soon. I hate having to stop before she's ready and before I'm ready, but I can't keep going with my health the way it is.

I'm sorry! What about substituting a special reading time when she asks for nursing? that way she still gets cuddle/mommy time.

She's not in it for the cuddle... She's not a cuddle-er... But she does like to be "on"in the wrap carrier. Unfortunately due to the health issues causing the need to wean, in unable to wear her very long before I get exhausted and have to sit down (and she doesn't like sitting while wrapped on).

We'll make it. Just gonna be hard on both of us for now.

1 week, 5 days.... she's still asking... but we are at MIL's (going home today) and she's been plenty distracted. Only asking when she's injured (little bumps) or tired.

    'nother update...

4 weeks tomorrow since we went cold turkey.

She's asking less and less... but still asking.

I almost caved the other day, too.

As for the health issues... my blood test showed low iron, low white blood cells, and low platelets. I know that weaning was/is probably the best decision for my situation.. but still saddened by it.
