I'm cautious like that.
It would of course depend on what their bottom line looks like right now. Many stores and companies are folding right now, and the owners I have talked to were loosing money for a few years before they gave up. Some just couldn't put money in without loosing things like their home, others took out 2nd and 3rd mortgages and are upside down, trying to make a previously lucrative business survive.

Sure, but then that doesn't have much to do with Obamacare, the majority of which (such as employer mandates) won't take effect until 2014.

Think of the quote "The thread that broke the camels back". A business that is already struggling and barely make it could (and IMO will) break from the extra burden unless they make cuts elsewhere. A company that is thriving and bringing in huge profits each year can afford to offer insurance without feeling the pain.

Not part of the debate, but I am curious. What are the rest of the things left to come with Obamacare?

We still don't know. They have been purposely holding back things until after the election, I wonder why. But we will probably be hearing about them soon.

There have been a lot of things they were waiting until after the election for. Wonder why Obama didn't mention this in the debates?

    Who imposed the moratorium?
The chart above shows that oil production on federal property did in fact decline by 13% last year, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. But that was mostly the result of the moratorium imposed after the BP spill in 2010.

Overall, oil production in 2011 was still above where it was when Obama took office.

Analysts are projecting another fall in oil production from federal land and water in 2012 -- again, largely due to the lingering effects of the moratorium. In 2013, production is expected to start rising.
Oil production going up after the election was not a result of Obama, he just didn't have a chance to make changes yet. You can see production going down on your chart even BEFORE the oil spill as soon as Obama got his hooks into things. I don't think production is going to start rising in 2013 now when he just closed off more land.

The Interior Department on Friday issued a final plan to close 1.6 million acres of federal land in the West originally slated for oil shale development.

The proposed plan would fence off a majority of the initial blueprint laid out in the final days of the George W. Bush administration. It faces a 30-day protest period and a 60-day process to ensure it is consistent with local and state policies. After that, the department would render a decision for implementation.

But I do see a BP Oil Spill just before a giant plummet. I do see efforts being made in other ways. I don't have enough vision to fight an oil debate because frankly I know nothing about oil.

However. I think you see things in one way and get lost in that mirage. I am not for or against Obama, globally. But, I think we should be balanced in approach and not allow disagreements of pieces and parts cloud vision of the entire policy: meaning, if he is wrong on one thing, it does not mean he is wrong on all accounts. I haven't seen evidence in the rinky dink articles posted to establish his failure.

I think you need to look at your chart again. The oil spill is after the peak not before.
