Basically, a lesbian couple wanted to live together but couldn't afford it. One is a Marine and one a civilian. Since the military gives housing stipends to married servicemembers, the two married male Marines to collect the money. (Contract marriage.)
The three Marines are being charged with "conspiracy, making false official statements, fraud and adultery for allegedly marrying to collect thousands in financial assistance."
"There's no conspiracy here," Murphy told KGTV. "There's no trying to steal from anybody. We just wanted to be together and she wanted to serve her country."
So what do you think? Did they do anything wrong? If so, what should be their punishment?
