All My Babies' Mamas

Are you disappointed that they pulled this show, or do you think it is "grotesquely irresponsible and exploitive" ?

Oxygen Media has pulled the plug on "All My Babies' Mamas," a reality special the network was developing about a musician who has fathered 11 children with 10 different mothers.

The network offered no reason for curtailing the project. In a statement issued Tuesday, Oxygen said that, "as part of our development process, we have reviewed casting and decided not to move forward with the special."

The one-hour program would have featured Atlanta rap artist Shawty Lo, his children and their mothers. It was expected to air later this year on Oxygen, an NBCUniversal cable network owned by Comcast.

"All My Babies' Mamas" got a hostile public reception after Oxygen announced it last month. At least one petition calling for Oxygen to shut it down has collected more than 37,000 signatures.

The Parents Television Council called the program's concept "grotesquely irresponsible and exploitive" and pledged to contact advertisers of the show if it reached the air.

Previously, Oxygen denied charges that the show was meant to be "a stereotypical representation of everyday life for any one demographic or cross section of society," but rather would reveal "the complicated lives of one man, his children's mamas and their army of children."

On Tuesday, Oxygen said it will "continue to develop compelling content that resonates with our young female viewers and drives the cultural conversation."

I think it was just another stupid disgusting show "starring" a guy who doesn't know all of his kids names. I'm glad it was taken off.

Exploiting? Only of the children that were involved with the show. None of the adults who knowingly were a part of it.

I can't really get my "I care" up about it either way. There are tons of terrible shows on TV already.

Wait, a show about a dude who has fathered a hot load of children with different women and left them hard up? Sounds like a depressing show, though sometimes I guess those are ones people seem to watch ~ teen Mom, that disgustingness that is honey boo boo etc..... I think that it makes people feel better about their messed up lives to watch people with more messed up lives. Its sick.

It reminds me of Antonio Cromartie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ~ he has 12 kids with 8 women living in 6 states? Awesome, dude. There goes that NFL paycheck.

The thing that troubles me most about these shows..........is that people are watching these shows. Thats why the producers make them. Get rid of it, folks! Seriously.

Hate shows like this, seems as if people are playing "how low can I make my life look" and getting paid for it. I really cant understand what people think when they watch it

I watch Teen Mom. That is my one reality show guilty pleasure. Although I don't watch it much anymore like I used to. Was making me too sad.

The show is disgusting, as is the man that would *star* in it.

The ONLY good thing that could come of the show would be that the kids would be better supported and taken care of by the money. It's kind of funny to think about what tiny percentage he would get to keep after the child support.

I hate Honey Boo Boo...but I recently read an article where the mom states she is taking all the money from the show and putting it into trusts for all the kids. She doesn't touch it ---it is just funded from the show to the account. If that is true I give her credit for at least doing that. Much better choice than Jon and Kate ever made parading their kids around.

Sounds like yet another show that I would not understand the appeal of. I'm not into reality TV except cooking contest shows (Next Iron Chef, Chopped, et cetera.) However, I agree that the adults are not being exploited, although the children probably are.
