No. Saying that homosexuals have the right to get married so long as they don't mind marrying someone they don't love is a joke. And not a funny one.

I don't think it's a joke or funny. That is the definition of Marriage.

    Per dictionary.com

    a.
the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc. Antonyms: separation.
    b.

    2.
the state, condition, or relationship of being married; wedlock: a happy marriage. Synonyms: matrimony. Antonyms: single life, bachelorhood, spinsterhood, singleness; separation.
    3.
the legal or religious ceremony that formalizes the decision of two people to live as a married couple, including the accompanying social festivities: to officiate at a marriage. Synonyms: nuptials, marriage ceremony, wedding. Antonyms: divorce, annulment.
    4.
a relationship in which two people have pledged themselves to each other in the manner of a husband and wife, without legal sanction: trial marriage.
    5.
any close or intimate association or union: the marriage of words and music in a hit song. Synonyms: blend, merger, unity, oneness; alliance, confederation. Antonyms: separation, division, disunion, schism

The definition includes homosexual marriage now. Your definition is a religious one and should have no bearing on the laws of the US.

Not in my state. It is defined in the Texas constitution as a union between a man and a woman.

You didn't say "state" definitions. You said definition. I quoted a common reference for the definition of marriage. There is no caveat that says "but not in Texas"

Still doesn't make it right Gloria. Back not that long ago it was on the law books to keep slaves and keep people segregated by color. People realized that was not fair and not equal. This will happen for LGBT in our lifetimes as well thank God!

Who said anything about sub human? But yes, I do think that if you would seek to deny your fellow citizens equal rights and protections under the law, you are a bigot. I won't apologize for that. However, bigots are people too. I certainly don't think they are less than human.

That is the way that it comes across. I am sure that is how some homosexuals feel as well, but that is not the intent.

But not to the consenting adult that they love, if that happens to be someone of the same gender. I have the right to marry the consenting adult I am in love with; you think that a gay person should not.

I think the US federal govt should just legalize SSM and get on with things. So stupid - legal in this state but not in this one. Aren't there real issues that need attention other than making sure nobody with the same chromosomes wed? Ridiculous and futile waste of time. Anyone who actively tries to prevent SSM needs to worry more about their own life and less about the lives of others and realize nobody's taking away their rights by bestowing them on gays.
