Oh my gosh. I am so sorry he and the rest of you went through that. I can't even imagine. :(Quote:
Thank you all so much. Jake had his tonsils and adenoids removed last monday down at CHOP in Philly. He wasn't released until Friday which was very unusual, but he refused to eat or drink. Last night he had a massive hemorrhage from his mouth ~ a scab ruptured and there was a ton of blood and membranous and scar tissue/clots. I was home with the three kids alone, DH was on his way home from a meeting. The bleeding started, I called 911, and within 9 minutes he was unconscious in my arms and barely breathing. This was all in front of my other 2 children. The bleeding was so heavy and it was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced. My husband arrived home to what looked like a murder scene 2 minutes before the ambulance arrived. Thankfully my parents were there within minutes and DH could join us at the hospital. He was rushed into emergency surgery at our local hospital as he was in critical condition and too unstable to transfer to CHOP where his original surgery had taken place. He has been sedated all day but his hemoglobin is very low (7.3) ~ below 8 usually indicates a need for a blood transfer, but they are loathe to do it due to his young age and the risk of complications. He lost half of the blood in his little body last night on our kitchen floor while in my arms. To say that it has been a stressful 24 hours would be an understatement. I honestly thought he was going to die. I have never experienced anything like that in my life before. So appreciate any good thoughts, energy or prayers. Thank you all.
