This board seems to be picking back up again so I thought I would start a thread for everyone to update what has been happening in their lives.
A lot has been going on here with me. I joined weight watchers. I have lost 25lbs in the last 4 months. It is a whole lot of work, but I am excited about it. I also just recently started training for a one mile fun run on Thanksgiving Day. I know one mile seems really easy to a lot of people, but for me, that might as well be a marathon. I crossed over to the people that have a smart phone and was able to download an app that monitors my steps. It tells me how far I have gone and how fast I have gone. My block is .3 of a mile so it has made a nice training block. I have finally made it so I can go around the block without stopping at all to walk.
My girls are growing up at a lightning speed. Alyssa is now 9 and a half, just a few inches shorter than me, and in full need of a bra. TMI, but I expect her first period soon. I started when I was in 4th grade and she is in 4th grade now. Scary, scary parenting times. Brianna is now 7 and in 2nd grade. She is my jogging buddy. DH and I decided that Alyssa and Caitlyn are ok for the 5 minutes that it takes me to get around the block, so I have been able to go during the day with Brianna. It has been a fun thing to do together, but I know if we raced she would win hands down. Caitlyn is now 5. How is it possible that my baby is 5 years old? She has just started to read and it is such an exciting thing to watch. We also have a puppy named Patches. This is the first dog that I have had since I was a little girl. He was so cute I could not resist.
Probably the biggest thing is that we are considering moving back to NY. All of my family and a lot of Daniel's family live there. My Dad has been in poor health recently having found out he had 7 blockages in his heart and several related heart problems. SIL is also 34 weeks pregnant with twins and it would be so nice to be there more than once or twice a year. The company that Daniel works for part time has an office about 45 minutes away and he would not even need to re apply, just transfer. There are a ton of variables though. I have no idea what we will end up deciding. We are planing to visit over Christmas, have Daniel meet the manager, and see if we can stand the weather. Neither one of us have lived there since we left right after high school. Our house here also is almost paid off, there are low taxes, lots of jobs, and we like the political environment. Buffalo gets a TON of snow and is not a thriving economy. We will see how we feel after visiting. Mostly I think it will come down to how it goes for Daniel meeting the manager if it is someone that he thinks he wants to work for.
If you made it through all of this, great job! How have you all been doing?
