    Default Deport journalist?

Famed journalist, activist detained by U.S. Border Patrol

What do you think should happen in this case? Should Vargas be deported or be allowed to remain here (perhaps with a Visa issued) to continue to report on immigration issues?

I think he should be deported. I have very strong feelings on illegal immigrants here though so I dont think he should be given anything special.

He is practically begging to be deported for publicity. Let him have his wish.

I do think there need to be protections for people who were brought here as children years & years ago, many of whom don't even know they are illegal until adulthood. There's absolutely no reason to deport him. He's a productive member of society, he pays his taxes, he has never lied about his documentation or attempted to assume another identity; his only "crime" is being the child of the wrong parents.

I think they should bring back the guest worker visa. Let them have a legal status that is not citizenship. The unions are the one's that forced them to take those away and continue to fight to keep it from being implemented again.
