Discontinued products (total fluff)

If you could bring back one (or two, or three) of your fave products that's been discontinued, what would it/they be? What did you love about it? If one of your current products was suddenly discontinued, would you complain to the company?

Pac-Man cereal. I loved that stuff when I was a kid and they stopped making it. My mom went around to all the cheapo grocery stores who still had some and bought it for me. Lord knows how old they were. I would sell my first born for some Pac-Man cereal again.

Holy Moly, Wendy's Chicken Cesar Pita was awesome. DH used to work at Wendy's while in college and he used to make me a double stuffed one and bring it home. It was so dang good. How do we get them to bring it back?

NARS glitter pencils! Expensive but glorious. They are down to the last of the inventory. I love having a little sparkle in my eye make-up and these don't bother my contacts at all, plus the pencils last well over a year.

Loved a scent at Origins called Spring Fever. Now gone. It was just a very light & subtle scent and I got a lot of compliments when I used it.

I wouldn't write to a company, they're basing their decision on profitability, so they don't really care that I miss their product. If it's not making money, they're not interested.

Ya, I used to love that stuff too, along with Salon Selectives - smelled soooooooo yummy.

-Bounce fabric refresher (way better than Febreze and smelled just like a dryer sheet)
-Clinique Pink Chocolate shade of lipstick
-Glade Plug In that smelled like pumpkin pie and baking gingerbread cookies. I think it was called Harvest Spice or something like that.

Ah, that crazy black/white/pink bottle! Yep, had that as a teen and now if I smell anything like it I want to barf. And remember all the guys wore Drakkar Noir? That's probably discontinued now too!

Oh yes! That is like *the* smell of junior high to me. I don't know if I would use it now, but it would be fun just to smell it again.

I can still buy UB ultra here. Not sure if the 'discontinued' ruling applies to here or if my drugstore just has tons in the back. I heart OB.

Alka Seltzer Morning Relief, didn't use it for hang-overs but the combo of caffeine plus aspirin was great.

I had to google it because I've never heard of it before. What did he use it for?

The only thing I can think of right now that I miss terribly is Trader Joe's spinach punjab simmer sauce. It wasn't too spicy, and the spinach still had good texture despite being jarred, and it was the base for a quick & easy dinner. Toss in some tofu & a chopped potato, simmer while slicing up a tomato & cucumber salad, and dinner was ready in 15 minutes. Yum!

Oh gosh, I remember my Nana using Mapleine. She scoffed at people who would pay money for bottled maple syrup when she could make her own. Looks like you can get it on Amazon, six bottles, though, but he'll be set for life. Blum 3

You can still get Exclamation up in Canada. Saw it at Walmart the other day. Drakkar as well - my step dad wears it.

I'm one of those people who has a weakness for the genuine thing. IMO, nothing beats Quebec or Ontario maple syrup! I make the kids use Aunt Jemima and I save the real stuff for myself.:)

He used it to make syrup. That is what I grew up on.

Really? He was told that the guy who had the license to import it to Can. had retired. Yes, he was upset enough to actually call the company:) My mom has a friend with family in the states, so he gets her to buy him some every time she goes to visit.

Oh, I am *so* jealous! They took all the OBs away for a while and then brought back every one of 'em except for the Ultras. The Super Plus just don't cut it on the first day. HMPF!

You know how you have little flashbulb memories from childhood about the stuff your parents had and you didn't really know what they were? OB tampons were that enigma in my mom's bathroom cupboard, for me. I remember thinking they were for when she had a REALLY bad nosebleed, or something.

Not a necessity but I definitely miss Sprite (remix). That was my favorite pop when it came out and although I don't drink it a lot, when I did I always got this.

Secret Soft Solid. Worthy of an email to the company which resulted in a coupon for the new crappy version I was writing them to complain about.

Teen Spirit deodorant. There was also another brand of teen deodorant that I really liked, but can't remember the brand. (It's also gone.)

McDonald's fried pies. I did actually write the company about that one. The response was that because people are so health conscience, baked pies were a better option. This during the time of the Super Size option. Still haven't made sense out of that logic and still miss the pies.

Peek Freans Life Styles lime coconut cookies. Yummy, and not terrible for you. I don't get why they pulled just that kind.

Oh! And just about all the stuff for the Rose Petal Cottage. DD got the cottage and a couple 'appliances' for xmas when she was about 2, then they yanked all the other stuff off the shelves and you can't find it anywhere here! All she has is the oven and the washing machine.:(

Bath and Body Works had a white cranberry lotion that they brought out during the 2000 holiday season. It was the most incredible smelling lotion I've ever owned, and I loved it so much! Of course, they never made it again and it really pees me off. Also, not that this is something that's been discontinued, but am I the only whos noticed that most of the cereals that used to be so good 10 years ago just suck now? It's like they're not nearly as sweet or something! I bought Capt Crunch's Crunch Berries the other night (I'm pregnant, so they sounded so good lol) and when I poured a bowl that night, the crunch berries have shrunk in size to half of what they used to be, and they taste like half sweet trix now! WTF??? Same thing with Honeycomb, Frosted Cheerios, Golden Grahams, and anything else that used to taste good as a kid!

I hear you on both. I loved Teen Spirit deodorant!!

I've found that the fried pies at a few places (we have them at Harvey's here in Ontario) are exactly like the old fried pies at McDs. I think they were made by McCains up here and a lot of chains still sell them. So much better than the baked ones!!

Harvey's was the only place my dad would get a burger. We don't have enough of them here to make it worth the long drive, unfortunately.
