I was reading cnn.com the day before yesterday and on the front page was a line of people with plastic gas tanks in line for fuel. When I saw the man in the picture I almost fell over! He was a spitting image of my dad. I couldn't believe it. If my dad lived up north I'd have believed it was him. So, I copied the pic and emailed my sister and she couldn't believe it either.
So do you all think you all have someone who looks so much like you that could pass for you to people who know you very well?

Oooh good one I know for sure that lots of people in my little world have look alikes! The most amazing one is the pharmacist in the doctor's building who looks identical to Brad Pitt. I $hit you not. Identical.
Everyone says that I look like Marisa Tomei or Winona Ryder. I prefer Marisa, thanks. My brother looks exactly like Will Smith, except my brother is white, if that makes any sense. I used to waitress in this Greek restaurant and the owner's wife is also Greek. Her customers used to stop me all.the.time asking about this or that or wanting to order and I'm like "I'll get your waitress for you" and the people would just look at me like I had a split personality or something.
Oh yes I think so and sometimes many! People used to confuse me for a teller at a bank 1 town over from where I worked then. I guess we looked exactly the same lol.
Years ago, during the Elian Gonzalez fiasco, there was a picture of his classmates in Cuba and one looked JUST like my brother.
oh that's funny you guys! I don't think anyone looks like me. Even my kids don't haha. But I am so not kidding when I say that looked like my dad...down to clothes choice and all, he owns clothes just like the man in the pic. weird.weird.weird.

Lou Diamond Phillips (in Young Guns) looked exactly like my dad when my dad was young, but now they don't look anything alike. The other day I was in the grocery store with my dad, and he stopped and stared at this young bagger for a minute and then declared that he looked exactly like one of his good friends who died when they were 20. That was a little weird. I don't know if everyone has a look a like, but I do think that there are a lot of people out there who look similar. Like, do you ever see a face (of someone who you don't know) and they just look sooo familiar to you, like you've seen their "type" of face before? That happens all of the time.

yes. There used to be a poster at the hospital I worked at for immunizations where the mom looked like me (same hair and glasses). I had lots of people ask me if the child in the picture was my real daughter. It bothered me every time I saw it because I felt like I should remember it.

Yes! I definitely have a look-a-like, or at least I did many years ago. I would have tourists come into my restaurant and swear that I'd waited on them that morning downtown. And I liked to wander through the tableware section at Macy's to get decorating ideas, especially on rainy days it was a fun place to waste time before my afternoon classes started, and two different salespeople on two different occasions swore I'd been in earlier in the day adding things to my wedding registry.
Funny story about kids not looking alike. My sister & I have the same mom & dad but they're divorced. My first stepdad had an adopted daughter. When we were all together, many people thought my mom's adopted stepdaughter was her biological daughter, and that my sister was our stepdad's biological daughter.

The freakiest thing in my family is that DD and her cousin who is a 10-year-old boy (my brother's oldest boy) could be twins. My family must have strong genes because my DH and my SIL are complete opposites. DH is blond/blue and SIL is brown/brown, and DD and her cousin have the same facial features. They look more alike than they do to their own siblings.
I don't look like my family and they are my bio family~lol. I look like my great grandmother and she has long passed.
It's funny what you mention as it reminds of my friend. She's adopted and the people that adopted her adopted her bio sister too. Bio sis and my friend share same bio parents. Everyone thought that her sister was bio kid to the adoptive parents and that she was the only adopted kid because sis looked a lot like adoptive parents.
This is a family picture of us when we were kids, the two girls next to each other in front are the twins. Nobody would ever believe they were twins because they look nothing alike and still don't.
