Default Fluff - favorite kind of home made cookie or candy.

For a much needed lighter change in conversation, I am going to a cookie exchange on Thursday. I have literally hundreds of recipes I could make and can not seem to decide. I do not want to do anything that there will be a ton of already. I was thinking more along the lines of a candy or something non-traditional. What do you think? Any awesome recipes out there?

Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite but not original.

I make a cherry bon bon cookie that is typically a hit.

Candy~not always a fan of homemade candy. I do like fudge though.

I love peanut butter fudge and have made it a few times recently, but I can't take anything with peanut butter in it due to allergies (There also goes the fun no-bake cookies). I just made over 100 chocolate chip cookies for our churches Christmas drama so I am a little burnt out on those. I did make home made hard candy the other day (Yes, I do lots of baking) and it turned out really well. I did find there are quite a few people who do not like hard candy so I am not sure if I will do that.

A friend posted this recipe for Red Velvet Cookies. I haven't tried making them yet, but they look divine!

I make some peanut butter bars that are super easy, super delicious, and super rich so you can cut them in tiny squares & no one complains they didn't get enough!

That is an option. I would love the recipe. I do have a recipe for chocolate fudge, but it has peanut butter in it.

Candy cane bark is a favorite of mine. Also, baby butter pecan tarts (which seriously take 2 minutes to make), and caramel corn. Yum.

    Recipe, please!

I also love meringues. I make them with chocolate chips -- we call these "Forgotten Christmas Cookies" because you leave them overnight in the oven -- or with crushed-up candy canes. I also make a version with a bit of Amaretto or almond extract & finely chopped almonds. And they're so easy, just beat some egg whites, add lots of sugar, and bake at a low temp for a long time until they're dry.
