Laurie, you would starve at our house, I think. I'm not a meatloaf fan, but I am a big crock pot fan and stews and chilis are at the top of our list - probably because you just chuck it all in the night before. Pot pie - yummy. BUT, no way will I do steak and kidney pie. Blek. I am not eating organs that filter waste from the body. Nope. I LOVE crumbles and crisps!!!!! I make this huge one from my Chatelaine cookbook that has apples, peaches, rhubarb and mixed berries. It's called Christmas Eve Crisp but I don't really know why.

Ditto. DH loves shepherd's pie. My dad loves it too, but he won't eat mashed potatoes as a side dish. Like, if you made mashed for thanksgiving and no roast potatoes he will fah-reek. Won't eat mashed but will happily eat it on top of shepherd's pie. That's messed up.

I'm not a big fan of a meal that consists mostly of ground beef.

Yes...I would starve. My husband does the cooking at our house, and I did get him a crock pot for Christmas, so he makes scary things that I don't eat. He also makes great things in it: pulled pork, spaghetti sauce, turkey chili (with beans instead of corn because I hate beans), stuff like that.

He does the cooking and I do the baking.

My husband is really good at opening packages. I do 99% of the cooking because I want to control what's going into what we eat. Before I met DH he had never read the nutritional info on the package.

I love shepherds pie. We just had it last night. Every member of my family also likes it, so it goes well in our house.

We also use other things besides just ground beef. Some times cut up left over roast, some times cut up left over chicken. A great way to mix up leftovers.

If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, in the spring they often have Brussels sprouts on the branches, literally like a foot long branch with Brussels sprouts popping out all over it. So much fun with veggies.
