I'm so lame and so excited about this :). I just ADORE Kate.

I definitely think they will go a traditional route. If I was picking from the above lists I would say Sophie and Oliver.

My personal suggestions for them are Evelyn and Henry.

For a girl I'm betting Elizabeth Diana but I'm stumped on boy names.

How about Blue Ivy?

I will join the dorky club that is excited about this. For a girl I agree with Elizabeth Diana. For a boy I think Edward, Henry, or another family name. I do think though that they should be able to choose what ever name they want even if it is not traditional.

Well, boy or girl (s)he will no doubt have an inherited name, especially the first name. I mean, it's the tradition of royalty especially when the baby will be the future king or queen.

Diana is really the only name that's kind of un-royal, KWIM?

Princess Anne named her daughter Zara. I guess you can do that when you're fourth in line and only going to get bumped down when your brothers have babies. Wink And I'm glad they're changing that rule.

Since Prince Edward's wife's name is Sophie I doubt they would go that route. For a girl I think Elizabeth, William is close to his Granny and Katherine and her mother's middle names are Elizabeth. I actually suggested it to hubby on the day of their wedding.

See I figured they would stay away from Elizabeth or Diana. Maybe a variant like Beth or Bethany though.

Had no idea what Edward's wife is named so I guess Sophie is out.

I agree they should name whatever but I picture them as picking traditional.

I think Victoria and Anne are beautiful, though when your name is like 4 or 5 names long, you can pretty much get whatever you want in there.

I don't think they'll use Anne because Princess Anne is still alive and the royal family doesn't usually name after living members. And for that reason, I'm changing my vote. Like I get any say in it, hahaha. I think they'll use Elizabeth and Diana as middle names but not Elizabeth as a first name.

I'm not a big fan of the following names but I smell a future Beatrice, Amelia, or Madeline.

I'm partial to Thomas for a boy. And I like Sophia for a girl.

Isn't William's cousin a Beatrice...I think we can rule that out. I can definitely see Amelia and Madeline (and hey I like those names!)

yes. prince andrew's daughter is beatrice. jeez, i just can't think of anything from my own brain. it's pretty hard when historically first-born girls weren't allowed to ascend the throne by birth. you hear lots of male names, but it's hard with the females, other than what's obvious - elizabeth, victoria, anne, mary etc. maybe it's time for the royals to start a new trend of naming your kids whatever the heck you want Wink

I saw something today that they are now saying they have lowered the odds on twins because of her being admitted to hospital with Hyperemesis gravidarium. I like Alice and Victoria for a girl or I did see in the paper today they think George is the front runner for a boy.

I'd like to see an Alastair or Helena. I think Alastair is unlikely given the scandal surrounding the previous royal Alastair, so my second choice is Arthur.

I'd lay bets on an equally lovely Alexander or Eleanor.

So many beautiful royal names to choose from though! Must be hard.

My thoughts are so good I had to share them twice.

I know a few different people that have had Hyperemesis gravidarium, and none of them were pregnant with twins.

My SIL had HG with her twins. But, that's the whole correlation does not equal causation thing.eta - I would just LOVE for them to pick either Charlotte or Eloise. I always wanted to name a daughter Charlotte but I met DH and his grandmother's name is Charlotte and we were dead set against naming our kids after anyone in the family.
