I teach piano and charge $15/lesson (30 minutes). I don't offer RCT lessons or exam preparation though, so that's why I am on the lower end of the scale.
It is a very wide range of price depending on your area.
And I also believe a child who wants to excel needs a proper piano teacher. I was trained to ignore the 'practice makes perfect' trope. Since it's not true. *Perfect* practice makes perfect. What I mean by that is, bad habits are easy to get stuck and hard to retrain after a certain point. It's better to be implementing all the components of proper musical training from the start, if someone is interested in advancing.
