That said, This is the area where I grew up and I would hate to see the beautiful land ruined. I can not settle in my mind what I think should happen.
Really...I used to live along the border, and I grew up 2 hours south, but on the eastern side. Can I ask where along the state line they have?

Yes, there are many people that are for it, but as far as I've seen, the only ones that are wanting it are the landowners that will make a ton of money on it. It would be nice to have a windfall of cash, and I don't resent them for it, or for wanting it. But destroying our environment for tens to hundreds of years (god knows what the side effects are of this that we will find out in 30 or 40 years) just isn't worth the cash.

The thing that bothers me THE MOST about the whole fracking craze is that they won't even make the effort, or wait at all to do any testing of any safer methods! So many people just want them to calm down, slow down and just see if there are safer ways, and safer chemicals to use. They just don't want to spend the money or waste the time to see what other options there are that won't kill things, and won't poison anything!

What I am saying.. isn't that Fracking is good for our health, nor oil spills. What I am saying is that we are better equipped to deal with it than the middle east nations. And to think globally in terms of environmental issues.

Erie PA is about 1/2 hour away.

Oh that's a ways from where I was, but still a beautiful spot.
If you ever visit up there, take some time for a bit of a drive to Wellsboro and check out the PA grand canyon. It's breathtaking.
