An entire occasion for announcing the sex of your child.
Silly, fun, or soon-to-be classic?
We did something similar with my second. We had a "Big Sister Party" for Alana, for close family members only. It was the evening of our big ultrasound. We had a nice dinner and people brought Alana "big girl gifts" to make her feel special. We bought a pretty pink dress and let Alana pull it out of a neutral color bag to announce the gender of the baby. It was a fun and special time for our family.
To each their own, but I think they are silly.
Silly. Not for me.

Ummm, fun maybe for your first baby if you REALLY love to entertain but I don't see them being a big hit for babies afterward. I guess that depends on if you have loads of friends who really care what your gender is, though. Perhaps, they do.
I don't really see myself attending a gender party or putting one on. But I do admit there are some really cute ideas out there for gender parties!
I think they're silly.

I'm hearing about these more and more lately!
They aren't for us as we like to wait until birth to find out the gender. That said, I see why people try to make it climatic when they find out the gender early on in a pregnancy. A friend just did this as a family affair where the cake revealed the gender to everyone (parents included) ~ this was their 6th, (she has three from two prior marriages, he has 2 from one prior marriage) and the photos of the siblings and parents cutting the cake and whatnot were pretty cool.
This is a total to each their own thing to me. If it makes people happy, then I'm all for it. I like any excuse to party, really

Oh and by the way I have never heard of this before!
I think they are nifty and there are some really cute ideas that I've seen lately, but I would never have one just because the important people are with me when we find out and the word gets out quick enough.
