I hope that you all are enjoying your summer -- relaxing as you're able with family & friends! I decided to close the old thread and start anew to allow it to load faster. Please check in as your able even if you don't feel like debating just to say hi and share what's up in your world.
Our summer has been one (at times 'mis')adventure after another -- but overall good! We just completed running a soccer camp. Now I have a few taking swim class this year. In the past, I taught the older ones but as we no longer have a private pool, I thought that I would enroll a few in a more formal class. Those of you that have had your kids in one -- how many classes did they take and how proficient were they by the end? I had gone through to lifeguard level years ago and I realize that my memory may be foggy (ha!) I just expected more training vs. 'water games' and use of flotation devices. Are my expectations too high?
Dh managed to have a severe tear in his meniscus. We meet tomorrow afternoon with an orthopedic surgeon to discuss surgery, rehab, etc.
Life is busy as usual. Beside work, writing and volunteering, we have a couple of home improvement projects going on that I want complete before the end of July! The kids have 'to do' lists to accomplish for their rooms. We're enjoying having 'family time' -- from chasing fireflies, stargazing, playing games and listening to free concerts in the park. Nothing too spectacular but at the same time as I watch the older kids grow and become more and more independent, I want to bottle up all these 'moments' together.
My personal health goal for the summer: Drink more water and get more walking in. I haven't accomplished a lot towards that goal (see initial chaos/adventures) but thankfully the summer's not over yet!
