Have we tried this in the past? Did it work? I remember trying to create an entire separate board where we could chat it up and that definitely didn't work, but did we do a single general chatter thread where people can just talk about whatever before?
I've kind of enjoyed the chattiness today
Am i the only one who would do this or would others enjoy a non-debate thread too?
There have been times where I've just wanted to tell a funny story about something that happened, or something along those lines and thought it would be nice to have a thread to post it on.
I think it is a great idea. I think it should be a sticky that way if someone just wants to say something totally off topic it will always be there.

I belong to a different bulletin board community and they have a thread like this and they leave it unstickied. And I admittedly pay a lot more attention to it when i see it 'pop up' to the top wit unread stuff!
ohh do we start a debate on the non debate thread about stickiness? LOL
I'd love one. Always fun to decompress as this board can get feisty and its fun to see a more lighthearted side of one another.
I'm birthday shopping on Amazon as DH is gone much of the week and my daughter turns 5 next week.
I think it's a great idea! I tend to agree that my eyes tend to gloss over the stickied threads after the first time I look at them, but if most people think that it would be better stickied I am happy to do it and just try to make an effort to ungloss.
Aside from sticky vs not, what is everyone up to this week?
I'm just trying to get motivated to finish out my last week of work (luckily, most of the stuff I needed to do to prepare is done! ) T has swim lessons tonight, and tomorrow I have my weekly OB appointment. Other than that, not much going on; just kind of in a holding pattern right now.
ETA: Melissa, happy birthday to your daughter!!! 5!!!! I didn't realize that your daughter and my son were so close in age. Any extra special presents for her this year?
-Alissa, mom to Tristan (5) and Reid (the baby!)
Got an opinion? We've got a board! Come join us for some lively debate on the Face Off! Debate Arena board.
Very exciting, Alissa.
My daughter is 5 as well! She turns 6 in August. 5 is such an adorable age. She's feisty but just so cute you could gobble her right up.
I love the idea of a chat thread. Fun!
I have a preliminary interview with a recruiter on Friday about a new job, I am excited about that as the job sounds really fun. Don't want to jinx it as this is just the first call, I hope I don't blow it. But it has cheered me up this week, I needed something nice to happen.

Her main present is really her party ~ we are having a tea party at one of those paint your own pottery places ~ she is so excited we only do birthday parties every other year for the kids and she is really into art so she is very excited. She is a very girly girl, despite (or maybe because of?) being surrounded by brothers so I'm having fun picking up some a few small girl things for her as presents.
I'm also doing my easter stuff, easter is always our seasonal supplies, so a bathing suit, towel, goggles, chalk bubbles etc for each kid ~ can you guys believe Easter is right around the corner? I'm hosting and we have 30 coming this year.......I think that i'm just blocking it out till I get through her birthday party. I love this quiet time of day when my bigs are off at school and smalls is sleeping. Its dark and miserable here on the east coast, pouring rain.
Juliet, Julia and Tristan could all be buddies. Laurie thats really exciting. Good luck, friend.
That would be awsome! Just wondering, but is my chattiness today the instigating factor? should I leave my NAD threads for a general chat thread?
Melis, I knew your kids were close in age but I didn't realize you got knocked up again quite that soon. I'm totally teasing. I love having kids close in age. I love the way they love on each other.
Today is the first day we are all well after a week of sickness. It is also a beautiful day out. We went to the zoo and to the store. We have a membership at the zoo and they have a story time on Tuesday mornings. We had to miss last week do to sickness, so I was glad to go today.
I also had the opportunity to explain mating (two mating monkeys) to my 7 year old. Not for nothing does she think she will ever do anything like that.
