We get access to our new house tonight! Yay! Kaiya and I are going to load up her wagon and haul some stuff over. Fortunately it is only a 10 minute walk.

I am sure my neighbours think I am nuts cause I have no problem hauling things around the neighbourhood in the green plastic kid wagon. But it means we don't need a car. I don't mind, even if we look silly.

We might be turning our backs on our Catholic faith and having pasta carbonara tonight. At least thats what Seamus is thinking of doing. We have to use up some of his homemade bacon! So glad to have him home.

I'm in the baking category. Going to make a cake this weekend to have a late birthday celebration for Lillian. I think its going to be a white cake, not sure what kind of filling yet. I need to consult her I am not a decorator though. Bonita, nice job!

And Melissa, i can't do what you are doing...just throwing something together. Thats what Seamus does! I need a recipe. I've gotten to a point where i can veer from the directions based on preference or what is in the house...but I still need a recipe.

Up at 5:30 to shower etc., get the kids up, drop them off at 7, get to work for 7:30, work till 4:30, do it all again in reverse, dinner, bath, bed, then maybe an hour to ourselves. I have no time for other stuff and I'm getting unhealthy because I'm not giving myself the attention I need. Sooooo, there's a university here that offers a 9 month massage therapist program, but it's more than $8000. I would love to do that. I have a frikkin great medical brain and DH would love that the program is only 9 months. I'm kind of getting excited just thinking about it. DH has always asked me why I don't go back to nursing school to upgrade, but truth be told I don't want the hours, plus with DH's schedule being a nurse would never work. So, what do y'all think about that? I want to be happy in what I do. I'm so miserable at my current job. The environment is downright toxic and it's literally making me ill.
Have you looked into any funding for the programs you are looking at? There is an awesome list of scholarships at a local College here. I will PM it to you.

I am a baker and a cook. I am particularly good at things where you can take a basic recipe and adapt it. Like cookies and crumbles. I can make an excellent pie crust too. I also make some really yummy sauces and casseroles based on what is in the fridge that night. They are always yummy, but never the same.

But, a finicky detail oriented recipe usually fails on me. I always seem to mess it up somehow.

I love to adapt recipes too. I do healthy baking! (I mix in decadent stuff too.) I swap out butter for yogurt and do other things to make it healthy and delicious. (That's what my blog is about.)

Laurie those mini lemon bundt cakes you made looked ridiculous ~ I wanted them.

I do love to make pies. My Mom sister and I all make an oil crust. I think that the big problem is that I don't like cake, so baking them doesn't interest me. QUickbreads and muffins I just do from memory, I'm just not a big follow a recipe kind of girl. Its all related to the authority problem, you know ?

I am so glad that it is almost dinner time. All this talk of food is making me so hungry!

What is everyone having for dinner? I think we are doing hotdogs with a side salad.
