Pardon my ignorance, but what is a website director? You design websites?

Nope, I am not a designer.

I oversee the website at A&E, which means I manage the staff, budget, content, editorial, design, development, etc. I have a team that does the legwork but I'm the editorial director in terms of content and also oversee the way the whole thing runs, how we work with other departments, what the company needs from us, our strategy, etc.

    Does that help at all?

It does. Very interesting. You would not think so much is involved in a website like that.

What I mean is that there are so many things we take for granted and do not realise how much work goes on behind the scenes.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts about Darla.

The kids have, lol! Tiven wants another hamster, and Weston wants something that "won't die until I'm grown up." We also have a cat and two bettas so the hamster was a good fit -- literally, on top of Tiven's dresser! We told them that we'll talk about it more after the summer because it wouldn't be right to get a baby hamster and then leave it alone for five days every three weeks.

Max is a silly name for a fish, IMO, but I don't dare veto her choice, so he has a plural name. Even DH is getting attached to it. He's putting his face in front of the tank and talking to it like it's a baby or something. He sounds so ridiculous I have to walk away.
If it's one with the frilly fins, it's a boy. Female bettas are very plain. We have two bettas. One is named Tofu (thanks to vote-rigging by the children) and the other is Sushi (the adults got fish-naming revenge.) The night the kids named Tofu, I said it's a good thing we didn't have the black bean enchiladas for dinner, LOL.

Thank you. I think we will still have a nice time. It will make for a lousy 11 year anniversary though.

As for a pet, have you thought of a roly poly (potato bug)? I was researching them from the perspective of a gardener (How to kill them), and apparently they make great pets, because you CAN'T kill them...

So I left my cell phone outside and when I found it I had a voice mail. I had to listen to all my old messages to get to the new message. There was a voice mail from my friend in my old messages (The one that just died). She had been upset and wanted me to call her because she needed someone to talk to. I had gotten that message and called her back, but it was hard to hear her voice and to hear how sad she was. The autopsy did not show any results. It was not asthma or pneumonia. They are still waiting on the toxicology report. I know I felt worse about it because of the PMS, but it did make me very sad.

On a lighter note, it will hopefully be fun to go camping. The weather is supposed to be perfect and 4 straight weekends of rain.

Jobs. Laurie, thats really exciting about the cooking channel! Sounds like it would be an awesome fit for you.

Melis, thats really interesting about the job. You'll have to tell us what you think after you get to sit down and talk about it.

Pets....i wanted to be a permanently pet free household. But I've found myself caving a little bit. I think i'd consider a cat, and I think i'd potentially enjoy it....ugh but there are so many reasons i DON"T want a pet. Some of the kids beg for one a regular basis. But one of those kids is Emma and you know....only 8 years from now she'll be 20 and surely she could have her own pet in her own place by then

Yeah, as of right now, the barnyard creatures are enough (Did i tell you we put roosters in with the pigs?) I zapped myself on the electric fence today. That was fun....said no one ever.

Bonita, I'm sorry. I know how hard those feelings are to deal with. I lost a friend to suicide many years ago. Losing someone young is so hard.

As for pets, we had a million of them growing up but right now I say NO until the kids are old enough and responsible enough to take care of them. I already have more than enough to take care of and many things that simply don't get done.

Kim -- what did the zapping feel like?
