Ummm..you think you could give more than <24 hours notice for something like that? Especially in a mixed district like ours where there are probably some kids who don't have a random assortment of shoes hanging around.

We don't buy water shoes...and if my kids are going to get their feet wet, we use our flip flops. Luckily i found a pair of sandals up in her closet I think she can wear. They used to be Emma's. Unfortunately they are a nice pair of keens and I would have rather not used these for this purpose.
So frustrating! I personally hate water shoes as I find they get sand inside them that rubs my kids feet raw. I much prefer flip flops for the water. That seems like awful short notice though, are you sure your first notice wasnt lost on the way home, or maybe your child missed the day they were handed out? If not I would probably say something to the teacher that you need more notice in the future. I know its almost the end of school, but you might help out another parent who has that teacher next year

I totally would have done that...had i had more notice.

I own a pair of crocs....so does hubby. They are only for in the house use I refuse to wear them off of my property.

Anyway, in the interest of true equality I have decided that he can pick up where I'm leaving off in the "organizing everybody's lives" department and see how he manages. Obviously I will have to intervene if he forgets to do stuff like get the kids to their dentist appointment or schedule Ben's shots in the fall, but with other stuff I'm actually interested to see if he even knows that 'thing' I always manage to remember is a gift that I'm somehow programmed with or if I actually have to do any work to maintain everyones' lives. I think he will be shocked to learn that I actually have to put effort into keeping all this stuff straight in my mind and written on the calendar. We should put money on this actually. Mama needs a new pair of Toms.
Ummmm yea, I would be ticked at that comment if I was you. I keep trying to tell DH that his life will drastically change when I go back to work, but he just doesnt get it. All that organizing takes time!

I'm 99% sure. I go through the kids folders pretty thoroughly...and this paper was dated the 29th. It also wasn't stated as "Remember to bring..." like it was something they had told us before. There is always the chance I missed it the first time though.

I hate hate hate the last minute school requests. Drives me nuts. Once we were told, at the last minute, to send in a tennis ball can. We don't play tennis! Luckily my neighbor had an extra, but otherwise I have no idea where we would have gotten one. Very random request.

And ugh, about the "twiddling thumbs" comment. It's frustrating. The first time I got really sick to the point of being incapacitated, my husband figured out just how much I actually planned for and did as things fell apart piece by piece. I think your strategy is a good one.

I wear mine camping in the summer and so do the kids. They are great for water and keep thorns, mosquitoes and sunburns off their feet and toes, among other nasties. As a baby Ben had inherited a teeny pair of black Crocs, size 5 . Cutest things ever. I know that most definitely Melis will disagree since she thinks Crocs are fugly (her word precisely).

What about Toms? Anyone here wear them? I love my Toms. I just saw some cute new styles for summer - I like the pansy pattern and 'sangria' stripes pattern. Mine are just plain 'chocolate', I think it's called, which is a brownish greyish shade. They hide dirt great The lacy ones are super cute too.

Today it seems like I have more twiddle time than usual, , since one boss is in DC and the other is just not here.

eta - that many emoticons is kind of embarrassing. I didn't realize.

We have a pair of mini blue crocs! They are hilariously tiny. They were handed down from my sister.

About toms, you know, i've seen some people wear them and think they look very casually cute, but I've tried a pair on before and I think they look a little funny on me. Probably just because i'm not used to wearing something like that.

Its interesting to me what different definitions of "natural consequences" we all have . Lisa I liked that article you posted.

Kim that's super annoying. We would be SOL too as we don't do water shoes or crocs and frankly I wouldn't buy them for one trip. I'd send mine in their keens

Are you saying a natural consequence of me marrying a man too similar to his father is getting pi$$ed off when the chauvinist in him rises to the surface? Because with that I will agree. I admit it; I saw those traits early on in our relationship, long before we got married. I sometimes wonder that despise all his wonderful qualities that 0.5% ugliness factor will get the better of us (or him, I guess is really more accurate). Or am I like way off base and totally out to lunch?

Do you oversee the Facebook pages too?

They posted a pic of my Ex for Memorial Day of the First 48 page, that sure brings back memories of when he was in the Army.

I was looking through the clips on the website and found this one where he forgot to take the warrant to the Judge to sign. Kind of funny. It's been awhile since I was on the site and didn't realize those clips were out there.

I have been super busy ended up working most of Memorial Day weekend and have been swamped at work because we have a deadline coming up so haven't had much time to get on.
