Sorry for your health issues...I thought it sounded like fibro as my friend has that and she had similar symptoms.

flood cleanup...I've seen the pictures. I'm so sad for you and the others where you are.

I'm so glad you finally are getting some answers. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Goodness Lisa, I think its time you caught a break! Hope things start to look up for you now that they have a better idea whats going on. I know nothing about fibromyalgia. Is it something that can be cured? Or will you have to deal with it for the rest of your life? Never mind, I'm bored...I'll just go google it now

Lisa - I'm sorry you have been dealing with so much pain! Glad you got a diagnosis and hope that now you can also get relief! I'm in agreement that it sounds like The Stampede event can be HUGE for your area. It is bound to not only bring in needed funds but also hopefully will boost spirits as well with that attitude of "Nothing can hold us back! We'll recover -- together!"

Those vacationers -- both returning and leaving soon -- I'm so glad that you all are getting a chance to recharge a bit! It sounds like those that have gone already had a great time! Laurie, your upcoming getaway sounds like a wonderful chance to relax with the fam! I hope you are able to come back to the job offer you desire!

Is anyone looking ahead to the 4th? Do you go to Fireworks shows, host some at home, or skip completely?

I just found out I didn't get the NBC job, which is actually good. Not only am I relieved as it looked a little dreary, but the VP in HR who called me told me that I "impressed the heck out of everyone" I met with and she wants to keep calling me as positions come open and asked me to please stay in touch with her. She said she thought I was smart and skilled and gracious and that she always stays in touch with people who impress her and it often leads to something.

I actually feel really really good about it, surprisingly.

We go to see fireworks on the 4th, now Juliet is old enough to stay up late too, so it's fun! Sadly I have to work on the 5th.

Private fireworks are illegal here and I don't like being in the sun long enough to get a decent spot on the water to watch the show over the bay. Sometimes we go to a park on a hill in the evening to see whatever we can see from there. Last year one of our neighbors put a ladder on his deck & climbed onto the roof & said he could see them just great. Maybe we'll try that this year.

My son turns 17 on the 1st and he always likes to kind of combine the 4th with his birthday party so I will probably have about 10 teenage boys for the 4th. The good thing is we are outside city limits so we can do fireworks right in the driveway or on the street in front of the house. Our neighborhood seems to have a contest on who can shoot off the most fireworks so it is easy to just sit outside and watch all the displays from the front yard. It is crazy I don't see how people can afford to spend that much on fireworks some of them must be spending at least $1000 or more.

Monday is Canada Day so it's a long weekend for us Canadian girls this weekend. Usually I am totally stoked for the long weekend, but this year it just feels like, meh. We're staying in town because DH has to work, and Claire has a b-day party on Friday afternoon. The weather is FINALLY relatively warm and sunny but nope, hafta stick around.
