Lisa, I hope things get better. Terrible!
We are in PA on our trip. Heading to a glorious breakfast in bit at our B&B and then going to the National Train Museum and taking a train ride at lunch time. Not sure what else is on the list today but it's a lovely day and the kids are already playing outside.
I've been on new meds for only 2 days and already my hips are completely pain free. And, my feet are only a teeny bit tender! Doesn't feel like I'm walking on hot coals anymore!!!! I feel like I could start running again.
Fuchsia, so happy you were able to check in & so VERY happy that Rob is healing up so well. Enjoy your vacation week, you deserve it!
Lisa, that is horrible, I hope they can stabilize the bridge and/or contain the toxic materials somehow.
Today is Tiven's last day at soccer camp and I'm so glad. She's been such a wimp lately and a drama queen, the slightest little bump or muscle twinge results in screaming & blubbering, limping around, etc. She "got hurt" on Tuesday & sat out most of the day. And then she "got hurt" on Wednesday & sat out the whole day. Today was dress-up day and they were having a costume parade with small prizes for best overall costume, best costume with a prop, wackiest outfit, and freakiest outfit. Tiven wanted to be "a marsh king's daughter but not the Hans Christian Andersen one," so she was in a blue generic princess dress, not too long so it wouldn't get wet in the marsh, and with a crown of marsh reeds (raffia) in her hair, and with a dark blue watery-looking wrap around her shoulders, and a stuffed lamb (which she rescued from the marsh, naturally) over her soccer outfit and she was very happy.
David Letterman is retiring. Such great memories of watching him over the past thirty-two years!
We had plans to go camping this weekend, but now Conner has Bronchitis. At least that is what the Dr says, though he has no cough? Anyways, he is running a pretty high fever that just knocks him right out so camping would just be unfair. Hopefully he will feel good enough to go to the Canada day Parade on Monday though. We were going to skip it, but now the kids are excited to go. They love that their Daddy walks at the front in his 'marching outfit' (red serge), plus they still throw a ton of candy at our parades so that is always exciting for them too. Afterwards there is a big picnic BBQ thing in the park that DH sometimes takes them too. I have never gone as I am usually tired and pregnant, or have to get a baby home for a nap....and I actually enjoy my traditional alone time on Canada day
Mom to Arianna (5), Conner (3) and Trent (my baby)
Finally home after two weeks in NY. We had a good trip but I am so thankful to be home. DH had his one year check up from the Kidney transplant. Everything looks good. He does have some neuropathy from the surgery, but it should go away over time. We did not end up going to Niagara Falls. There just was too much other stuff going on. We did go to the Erie Zoo and camping at Allegany State Park. Lots of visiting with family though.
Welcome back Bonita. Great for your husband! Sorry about the bronchitis, Kyla.
I love the marsh princess fun....Juliet would love that.
We just got back from our annual trip to PA, so fun, even more so now that the kids are older. We let them stay up late every night and they slept in, which was lovely. (Wish I could learn to do the same.)
We did a lot of fun kid things and I had a chance to pop into the Loft outlet store and pick up a few nice things for myself too, which I rarely do. I also got some fun ingredients to bake with at some specialty shops and some interesting olive oils from a really cool store in Lititz. The kids learned to twist pretzels at a pretzel factory.
The best part was the B&B, we love staying there, we adore the owner, and we had the best breakfasts EVER. I'm going to blog about it when I get the chance, I took pictures of all the food. Those breakfasts! All locally sourced organic food, delicious in every way, with homemade everything: waffles, peanut butter french toast, eggs, bacon, amazing fresh fruit, locally made yogurt with homemade granola, etc. MMMMMMMMMMMM.
Glad everyone had good trips! And Lisa, glad you have a diagnosis, and that the medication is helping you. The disney cruise was amazing. I didn't really know what to expect and it exceeded my expectations on every level. Seriously blew me away. I was almost teary yesterday when we pulled into shore! We went to two spots in Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Castaway Cay, which is in the Bahamas. Not even turning my phone on for a week was a gift in and of itself! The kids were the perfect ages to truly enjoy the magic of it all and with the kids clubs DH and I got to enjoy plenty of couple time. We are all unpacked and caught up, but leave again on Tuesday for the beach for the 4th july.
You're unpacked? Can you come to my house and unpack us? We were only gone for four days but I haven't done a thing. (We only walked in the door 2 hours ago though.)
Glad you had a great time. And Lisa, so glad you're feeling better!
Laurie I'm like a lunatic about stuff like that. I can't relax with stuff undone, so I literally had Nate carry the suitcases directly upstairs to the laundry room and unpacked as soon as we walked in the house. Its all washed and folded and I food shopped first thing this AM as the fridge was empty. I already downloaded all the photos and weeded the garden and yard and DH mowed it and I worked out today ~ we are a little crazy. But, now its all done and we can relax
My new stand mixer arrives on Tuesday! Can't wait.
We have a lot of fun pictures from the trip to go through....the kids made food faces every morning with their breakfast and my new camera helped me get some great shots. But yeah, we are a disorganized mess. We're all so lazy!
