I dont usually turn the AC on until late July early Aug, just keep the windows open at night and in the morning and run fans. The AC has been on almost 24 hours a day for a couple weeks, I am scared about the electric bill. We have a well for watering the lawn or I would probably have to let the grass turn brown.

I just found out a good friend from high school committed suicide. We kind of lost touch after school as it sometimes happens. I think the last time I saw her we were both pg with our first babies, so it has been a while. I am so sad for her family. And feeling a bit guilty that none of us made a better effort to keep in touch. Apparently she has been struggling for a long time with depression. Her parents had 5 kids, and she is the 3rd that has died. Her oldest sister was killed by a drunk driver and her brother was killed on his motorcycle, I can imagine losing 3 of my children as such young ages.
    I am so sorry.

I don't do well with yoga videos - but my mat is always laid out in our basement and I can run through some simple asanas or sun salutations on my own morning or night and it works for me. Hot yoga is fun but not for everyone..... I enjoy it but do it rarely as it messes with my cardio workouts- I use yoga restoratively/meditatively and usually on an "off"day so it interferes with my normal workouts as I don't like to sweat that much for restorative purposes.

Yeah, I do yoga classes twice a week and meditation once a week as well. But I need a home practice. I always feel so good after a class.

Hot yoga does not appeal to me at all. I hate being that hot, I am not sure that I could focus on the poses if I was overheated like that

Well, I think I had pretty much one of my worst birthdays ever.

I got an infection in my left eye on Friday so I've been putting steroid & antibiotic drops in it; the drops are making my vision blurry so I've had a slight headache since then. I had my alarm set this morning and my husband turned it off to let me sleep in, but that meant my steroid drops were two hours late and they burned like crazy when I put them in. We went out for breakfast to a little local place where my favorite thing was taken off the menu in the last two weeks. The waitress said they could do it anyway (yay!) but the omelette came out runny inside despite my ordering it well done (booo!) It took three more tries to get it right. I told the waitress to not bother after the second attempt but DH went into the kitchen to try to communicate what I wanted because he said he didn't want me to go home hungry on my own birthday. That ticked off the waitress so we were pretty much ignored after that and she didn't take anything off the bill despite all that trouble! After our breakfast, which took over two freaking hours, we visited the new farmer's market, did a couple of errands, and it seemed like the day was picking up. Then an old woman elbowed me in the gut. There was a crowd of people trying to get through the small space between the bus stop and a produce market, and I stepped aside for a man in a wheelchair to get through, and I bumped into the old woman. I said, "Excuse me," and she elbowed me so hard I actually peed my pants. Luckily I was wearing a long, dark, printed skirt with a lining so no one could tell, but I was embarrassed nonetheless. And in pain. We made it home, I was feeling better, and then the kids got started. Weston was sent to his naughty spot FIVE times, Tiven was bitten twice, Weston was scratched twice, Weston pooped his pants twice, and the amount of screaming & crying & whining was insane. I was ready to say, "**** it," and go to bed. But we rallied in the late afternoon and all was well. We had a sushi party for dinner followed by a dance party followed by Boston cream pie followed by more dancing and then the kids & DH were off to bed. So now it's just me and a bottle of white wine with 1.5 hours to kill before a new day begins. Good riddance!

Stacey, I will not complain at all about anything after reading your post. That just sounds like an awful day. But happy belated birthday!!!

I am happy for being able to wear jeans to work all week. Every place in town does that during Stampede - you can wear jeans and western wear. I found a cute pink floral western button up shirt and it goes great with my jeans and boots. We are going to take the kids down to the grounds on the weekend. They can't wait to go on some rides, though I hope they don't want to go on the ferris wheel. It is huge and when I get to the top I feel woozy. Such a wuss, I am. I can look out an airplane window and have no trouble with elevators (as long as they're not made of glass and on the outside of the building), but get me near a window in a high rise or on a ferris wheel and my knees buckle. CN Tower - forget it!

Lisa, I am sorry about your friend. So sad .

Lisa, I am sorry about your friend. I'll keep her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Stacey -- Happy belated birthday! I'm so sorry that you had such an awful day but the good news? The rest of the year is bound to go UP from there!!

Laurie, I have a friend that loves hot yoga. As for yoga at home, I used to do it following a program on a dvd but haven't in some time. I need to find a way to carve out more time for "me" time exercise. It is definitely a challenge.

    Happy Monday everyone!
