There is no feeling like one of your kids being hurt. Brianna (6) seems to be my one who gets into stuff. At 6 months old she rolled off the bed (Yes, I know I should not have left her there). She fractured her skull. By the time the swelling went down it looked like she had a baseball sticking out of her head. When I was pg with Caitlyn she got into my blood pressure medicine (PIH). Had to spend the night in PICU while they forced her to drink cole. Just the other day she swallowed a dime. Thankfully she is ok. She can be too curious for her own good though.

I have been lucky, while Robbie is curious he is very cautious. He slipped on the wheelchair ramp into the pool, not even sure why he was going that way but the life guard was right there. They had to close the pool while the paramedics were dealing with him so I had an audience when I ran in crying... Glad it is pretty much over but man kids can scare you.

Wow. That is rough. I can well imagine still having your heart rate up hours later.

Yikes Margaret! Glad he's okay! Sounds like my Matt - he's had 9 stitches on his forehead, eyebrow glued back together twice, pebble removed from his forehead, broken ankle and broken wrist. Oh, and 2 stitches on his finger. Thank God some of the injuries have happened at school .

Thanks y'all for the marathon support! If anyone had told me three years ago that I would have run three half marathons and would be running two marathons I would have said you're crazy. I didn't start running until I joined Weight Watchers in January 2011. I'm slow, but I get the miles done.

He could very well have a swollen glans due to the urine irritation and perhaps a mild fungal infection, which the doctor thinks he might have due to the moisture being trapped inside. The tip of his penis and the little bit of skin we can see inside is red. I don't believe anyone would have ever tried to retract his foreskin because nobody's ever bathed him other than us. Now, could he have pulled it back himself? I guess it's possible but he is more about just fondling himself, not investigating any further . Now, it's not probable, but since Claire has urinary reflux and suffered from many UTIs prior to her 2 surgeries, Ben does have a much higher chance of having the same defect. The doctor said that it would be quite unlikely since boys have much longer urethras and he has never shown any symptoms of a UTI, but the concern is there. So we are just going to do as the doctor suggests and gently over the next several weeks try to retract it and do what we can to help things along. However if he does develop a UTI we will probably have the surgery done. I've had one child ravaged with e-coli in her kidneys and I don't really want to go through that again! Sorry for the novel.
Lisa, this is the exact reason that we had Carson circ'd. We were really on the fence and when our doctor explained the risk factor for UTIs going up it made our choice very easy. All 3 of our girls get UTIs but my 11 year old still in prone to them after 2 different surgeries to fix them (although now when she gets them they dont go to her kidneys right away)

It was scary but everyone was helpful in calming me down. Robbie is playing on the Wii U so all is right with his world.

Robbie is now off to bed but we get to wake him and watch for concussion symptoms.
So scary! I am so glad he is OK>

So glad your boy is okay! I'd be terrified too...and crying.

And marathon running? Amazing. I know your Weight Watchers journey well, Carolyn, from our days on the WW board. You're inspiring!!!

I miss that board. No one else understood my late-night dips into the peanut butter jar.

Margaret, how's he doing today? You must be tired. Last year Ben jumped off a dining room chair head first into the corner of a wall. His forehead was split open, but thankfully DH was home so I drove and he held the towel on Ben's head. Yeah, driving by myself with no help would be a nightmare. Like, what do you do? Ask a neighbour to come along? Call hubby to come home first? 3 years ago I cut myself pretty bad and needed stitches, so I had to leave my kids with the neighbour and Ben was still a baby. I felt so guilty just dumping them on the neighbour to drive myself to the urgent care!
