Anyway I am going to be putting more recipes on that site and hopefully driving more traffic to my blog and building up my culinary credibility...I am still up for that job at the Cooking Channel! I sent them the link last night.

Vaseline on them, then plastic bags or plastic wrap, and then socks, and let it stay on overnight. The socks will be trashed if you don't put something over the Vaseline. Mayonnaise and coconut oil are other good options that you might have in the house if you don't have Vaseline.
My expected grilling yesterday afternoon was held over to this morning. I think I did pretty well. It's a good sign when your lawyer is smiling when you're done! I also had two supervisors come by later in the day & say, "Good job."
DH and Tiven went camping tonight up on Mt. Tam. It's a first-come, first-served campground, and traffic over the Golden Gate Bridge just gets worse & worse the later it gets. I came home early (at 2:30) at DH's request, so that they could get out of here and up there before all the spaces were taken. (It's happened to us before, there's a four-night limit so people go up on Wed to grab a spot and hold it through the weekend.) And I packed most of the food, left a list of what else DH would need to pack, and made a packing list for Tiven. Turns out neither he nor Tiven had packed anything, and he was futzing around doing.... something and they didn't leave until 4pm. And that was only after I yelled at him that I was never going to come home early again. Ugh. At least Weston and I are having a fun mom/son night. He's pretending to be a girl named Hailey, who is 9 years old and turning 5 tomorrow (LOL!) and whose friends Madelyn and Jack are also here but they are getting in some trouble. So Hailey & I are having a fun night.

Congrats on a job well done! Always nice to get good feedback like that.
This is my last day at work before vacation and it's moving veeerrryyy sloooowwwwly. Except I have a lot to do.
I felt sorry for my poor co-workers who will be without my baked goods for a week so last night at almost 10:00 p.m. I made them some banana bread.
And my pre-trip to-do list is totally reasonable since I have time off! I can do all the laundry, pack up the kids, go to yoga classes (plus a private instruction I scheduled for Monday), bake like a crazy woman (and bring some baked goods to our friends in DC), research & plan out our trip, and still have lots of down time. I seriously need it. Work has been unpleasant and stressful and I'm in one of those phases again where I just get so angry about my mom dying. So I think some yoga, some meditation, some baking & blogging (also meditative), and some NAPS will serve me well.
The kids are really excited too, and I am looking forward to the four of us spending time together. Also I plan to eat more freely while we're away and not be so Weight Watchers-focused. yay!
We are having a really good first week of school. Monday we went to a small local amusement park which the girls loved. Tuesday was our first day. We started out with a huge stack of pancakes then into the classroom. We did a fun circle and calendar time all together then broke off into individual work. In the afternoon we did the beads craft. Wednesday we did school and piano lessons. Then today we did some school early then went to our first co-op classes. We had cooking class in the morning where the girls decorated aprons and made cookies. The afternoon was supposed to be swim lessons but it was cancelled due to the rain. They had free time in the gym to play and make friends instead. They are finishing up school this afternoon. Then tomorrow in addition to school we will have a field trip to a horse farm where there will be more friends, horse rides, and other activities. It has been an exciting week and I am glad we are off to a good start. If anyone is curious, I decided to do a light readiness program with Caitlyn this year and start her in K4 next year.
