She said that yes, I was going to have the baby today, but go walking for a while, so my office mate and I walked for 30 blocks, laughing, calling people, it was a gorgeous day and we had lots of fun. Juliet was born about 15 minutes before midnight. Dave could barely speak when I called to tell him Juliet was on the way, she wasn't due for another 3 weeks. I knew, though...I'd woken up at 4:00 a.m. convinced that that day was THE day.

I was up for hours last night making heart-shaped (and star-shaped) peanut butter sandwich cookies for her, and we gave her her presents this morning. We're having a big dinner tonight at a restaurant she picked with family & friends, she'll do her kid party in September.

It's bittersweet for me. I am so thrilled for my amazing girl and I love her so much, but it is still a huge shock to me that my mom isn't around for this. I never in a million years thought she would die before Juliet's 6th birthday. I find myself very emotional. (It would have been my mom's 2nd wedding anniversary on the 18th.)

Anyway sorry for the spillage. It's all on my mind today. Will try to stay focused on the positive: my incredible amazing daughter, who has the strength of twenty! She's a powerhouse and I'm glad, all wrapped up in this adorable little package.
Happy Birthday Juliet (I love that name). I am sorry your mother is not here to share it with you.

All my b!tching and moaning about that stupid Mirena will come to an end shortly. Sep 3 it's being removed. When I called the secretary was like "Why do you want it removed?" I said that DH had the snip and the Mirena sucked for me, and she goes "Too bad it didn't work for you. It works great for most. Are you sure you don't want to wait a bit longer to see if things settle down?" Um......I guess she missed the part about the snip snip.

No kidding. "Oh yes please. Let's keep it in for a while longer because I love having 2 cycles a month and random spotting. It's super fun."

Big hugs laurie. Your Mom IS here in that she is part of you and part of that sweet girl you made. She helped form you into the loving and strong woman you are and is helping you form your daughter into the kind and loving girl and someday woman that she will be. She is right there with you, and with Juliet today.

Happy Birthday Juliet!! Hugs to you Laurie...

I've heard so many negative things about Mirena....glad you can have it removed!

I woke up feeling like blech this morning, so I extended my days off by a day this week. I feel bad I wasn't there, but I think my body was just exhausted and that's why I felt so awful. Slept some after taking Thomas to school (we had some bad storms this morning), and I feel somewhat human again. Now to finish up laundry...sigh.

So I went to the doctor yesterday and I have a bladder infection. I do not think I have ever had that before. On an antibiotic so hopefully I will be feeling better soon.

Hope you feel better soon Bonita! I used to get them all the time when I was younger.
