It must be very stressful to have a spouse that snores.

So what is everyone making for dinner tonight? I need some new inspiration. I have some chicken breasts thawing out, but what to make with it?

Easy peasy!!!! Put the raw chicken in a casserole. Mix 1 cup chunky salsa, 1/4 cup white wine and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Pour over chicken, bake at 375 for 40 min or until chicken is done. Very juicy and very easy.

That's also a nice sauce for pasta, except I use less olive oil.

Dinner for us tonight I think is going to be Kitchen Sink Quesadillas. I use frozen corn instead of canned and add a can of sliced olives. I also use only 1/4 of a red onion; I swear our onions here must be gigantic compared to other places. I saw a recipe yesterday that said, "1/2 an onion, chopped, about 1/4 cup," and half an onion for me would be well over half a cup!

ETA tonight just for fun I chopped up half an onion and it was just a bit short of ONE CUP.

We had spaghetti with tomato sauce and turkey meatballs. Dave spent hours making the sauce. Good stuff.

It's like having a newborn....you never sleep for more than a couple of hours at a time, tops. I've been slowly going crazy.

I found out recently that I am going to be making the wedding cake for my SIL's wedding next month. I am excited about it. Michael's was having a nice Labor Day sale yesterday so I bought a waterfall to go under the cake and also all of the pillars and boards to make a tired cake. It will be my first tiered cake. It is going to be a small wedding (around 40 people), so the cake does not have to be that big. I have really been toying with the idea of starting to sell cakes after our kitchen is finished. For now, I have just been taking a picture of each cake I make to later put together a portfolio. My next cake will be for Caitlyn's 4th birthday party next week. I can't believe she will be 4.

Another SIL also posted on FB this AM that she is pg with her first. I am happy for her. She has been trying for a long time. I have known for a little while, but it is neat to have it out now.

    Happy Labor Day everyone!

We didn't have any plans, which was nice. I got to sleep in until about 9:00 (remember when sleeping in was getting up around noon?), ran a few miles, then dropped off a bunch of donations at Savers by us. The boys like to look for things there, so we did a little bit of shopping there. I scored a great pair of Franco Sarto brown knee-high boots for $7.50! They were in great shape, too.

I really, really wish I had tomorrow off, too.

For those needing Ticonderoga pencils....my local Big Lots had them for 2.90 for a 10 pack. If you have one near you I would check it out...seems like a good deal based on what everyone has posted.

Carolyn~we go to Savers too. I always find almost new Gymboree stuff for the girls for so little. Typically under 3.00 a piece and I've bought a brand new Fossil bag there for 6.00 (clearly someone did NOT know how much this could go for.)
