Alissa, what a sweet and thoughtful little boy Tristan is. I would tear up too!
Ben had his first day at preschool today and he LOVES it. Just like a fish to water. Claire started Grade 1 yesterday, and so far so good. I picked up Claire's glasses today and they're so cute.
Started bleeding pretty heavy this morning (had Mirena removed Tuesday). Passing clots and gushing blood (sorry for the TMI). Called OB and he took me in right away. Taking cyklokapron to slow bleeding, but if I'm still bleeding by Monday I have to go back in and he might do a D&C and try to see where the bleeding is coming from. Presumably from the IUD site, but he's not positive. This morning I was literally using Kleenex to wipe the blood off my pant legs.
Our local paper hit the stands today with my very first recipe column. Fun!
The front page headline is typical, we have a very typical paper for our little town: "Teachers Welcomed Back to School This Week with Brass Band, Students Return to Classes on Monday."
Still, it's fun! I'll have a healthy baking recipe in there twice a month. I'm relaunching my blog tomorrow so I'll post the link when it's ready. I'm very happy with it!
Lisa, that is scarey. Keep us posted

While I like getting back into our routines when school starts, I get all twitchy when dealing with Nathan and homework. He has a planner, and has 10 minutes to make sure he has everything written down at the end of the day. This is day three that he's forgotten to either bring something home, or write assignments down in his planner. I know he has ADHD, but honestly his is pretty mild. DH is lucky sometimes that he works at night :-/

Uggg. So yesterday Caitlyn was sick. Runny nose, cough, and slight fever. Then after a nap she woke up with a 103.1 fever. I took her straight to the PM children's clinic. They could not find anything wrong. Strep came back fine, flu came back fine, ears looked ok. They decided to give her some cough med and send a sample away to the lab. Well today Caitlyn woke up feeling great. No fever, runny nose and cough better. I was thinking it was just a 24 hour bug (I have no instincts when it comes to that). The doctor just called with the lab results. Hand Foot and Mouth, 4 bacterial infections, and Strep Pneumonia. Seriously? How am I not able to tell when my kids are seriously sick. She ran around and played like normal today and she has no sores or rash anywhere.
ETA - Her birthday party is Tuesday and I will have devastated kids if we are not all well by then.
