Oh wow Bonita - that's crazy she has all of that! I hope she's all better by Tuesday. It sounds like you caught it early.

Just got back for the girl's doctor. Thankfully, she thought it was a faulty test and that Caitlyn did not have all of those things. Yay! I was up half the night worrying about it. She did think she had a bad cold and ear infection so we are going ahead with the antibiotic anyway.

That sounds awful! Almost like it had implanted & got ripped out so the uterus is trying to heal that spot like it does after birth. Had they never done an ultrasound when you were having so much pain & spotting so long? I always just figured they'd made sure it was properly in place when you first complained. I hope you heal up soon.

I wonder if that is a reasonable expectation for most 10yos? That's 5th grade, right? Our 5th graders still get a weekly homework outline from the teacher; they only have to write down what the "skill of the day" is for their reading, and occasionally something extra the teacher adds at the last minute. They just check off the homework as they do it. They transition to writing things down in the second semester, in preparation for middle school. But in middle school the homework assignments also get posted to SchoolLoop by the end of the day so if they don't write something down, it's not the end of the world. Does Nathan have an IEP? If so, then maybe get this written into it, that the teacher provides the homework assignment in written form either to Nathan or to you by email.

He's been using a planner at school for the last two or three years. They start them with it pretty early so they're used to it by the time they get to high school. The biggest issue he has is leaving his homework at school. Most of the time it's written down (they copy it off the board after the teacher writes it down). I'm definitely going to contact his teacher to see what she recommends.

I can't wait to try more of your recipes despite my intense hatred of my oven. And I love your writing style: "I used a full teaspoon instead of a quarter, because I don’t think a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon is all that different from no cinnamon at all." Yes!

Last year (in 4th grade) Nathaniel's trick was to just not bring home his planner at all. His teacher would stalk him to make sure he wrote the stuff down -- she was great and just understood him so well -- but she had a class full of kids to deal with and he always "forgot" to put it in his backpack.
