Bonita, how are Alyssa's new glasses working out? Did that solve the headache problem?

We're supposed to get rain overnight and lasting the next two or three days. I'm kind of excited, we really need rain, we haven't had anything for weeks. Tiven asked this morning for a ride home from school -- for tomorrow, LOL! She's planning ahead as she'll have her violin & doesn't want to get it wet.

They had Alyssa keep one pair of glasses while they sent the second pair away to be fixed. Once that pair is fixed they will send this pair off. She is still getting headaches, but they are not as bad as they were before. Hopefully the other pair will come in soon.

    Hi guys.

I am obsessed with The Great British Bake-Off (show). It's online at dailymotion.com. I can't stop! I watched seasons 4 and 3 and now I'm watching 2. The American version was fun because I liked all the bakers but Jeff Foxworthy makes me want to drive spikes into my eyes and he is a horrible host for something like that. Also the nature of the British show is so different from a lot of American competition shows, it's really about being a great baker and not just being a great baker within the show's constraints. They go home all week to practice!

Anyway it's really fun to watch. I highly recommend it. They're all so talented. (The American bakers were amazing, too.)

I'm having a rotten day. My excel spreadsheets think they are smarter than I am, or that I don't *really* want to do what I need to do. And my phone is all static-y so I had to sit in a freaking conference room for a boring hour-long phone call, no email, no internet, not happy. I drank way too much iced tea so I'm having to pee a ridiculous number of times every hour. And the really cute outfits I wanted for the kids for the holidays are out of stock in their sizes! I think I'm going to call it off & go home.

So, the baby has a funny walk. Ever since he started walking, one foot turns out and he kind of drags it behind him. It seems really obvious to me, but DH has trouble seeing it. Anyways, after stressing about it for the last month or so, and thinking maybe I am seeing things that arent there, I finally took him to the Dr today. So according to our Dr, I shouldnt worry, it not a big deal, there is no one perfect way to walk, etc, etc, But lets get him x-rays and send you to a specialist anyways. So now I am sitting here wondering if he only said it wasnt a big deal, everything's fine to keep me from freaking out, or if he sent me for x-rays and to a specialist to keep me from freaking out This has not helped my stress level at all! And I still dont know when we will get into the specialist.

PS. Getting a 1 yr old x-rays is not fun.

Kyla, how long has he been walking? If it's been less than a month, then I wouldn't worry at all. It's probably just that the muscles on one side are stronger than the other. As he gets stronger, it should go away. If it doesn't go away, or if he's been walking for over a month & still doing it, then one of his legs might be longer than the other. Have him sit with his hips squarely against a wall and measure each leg on the floor. If the "dragging" leg is longer then that's probably the problem. Again, it might work itself out as he grows and keeps working those muscles, but if it's affecting his gait you'll want to do something to prevent damage to his hips & back in the long run. So basically, don't worry, but don't put off seeing a specialist if it's warranted.

Thanks! I'm doing better today. Technology seems to be working with me rather than against me.

I just heard the autopsy report of my very good friend that died 6 months ago. She died of dehydration due to a bad virus. One one had I am thankful it was not suicide as many suspected, but on the other hand I am very sad that it was something so preventable.

I'm so sorry Bonita. Hopefully now that the autopsy has been done and everyone knows what happened, you can gain some closure and healing. It must have been terrible to have it drag out so long with no answers.
