This lady brings all these beautiful semi-precious stones and beautiful beads so they can do a bracelet or necklace, plus a bookmark, and then her partner who is a nail tech is going to paint the girls' fingernails and do some nail art. Should be fun. All Claire's friends are pretty girly-girl, as is Claire.
My daughter would LOVE that. I've never heard of that kind of party but how cool!

Isnt that song in one of the Madagascar movies?

I have a 5 year old too who will be 6 in May! I love all the party ideas. Keep em coming cause we have no idea what we are doing. There arent a lot of 'party' activities that you can hire around here, so I will be flying solo, with DH of course. Maybe I could convince one of the other moms to help out though and we could do a nail painting station.......hmmmmmmm.

I am a little bit jealous of all you ladies talking about spring, as it is snowing here today. Though I do think that snow is prettier this time of year than any other. Maybe because of the way the sun hits it......or maybe because it covers all the gravel that has made its way to the top of the snow banks everywhere

Our big news right now is that my middle DS burst his ear drum yesterday with an ear infection. It was horrible! In the morning it was 'Mommy my ear hurts' but no big deal. I gave him some advil and away we went. By noon he was writhing in pain, crying on the couch. I gave him more advil and Auralgam in his ear which seemed to help. By the time we got into the Dr at 3 the eardrum had burst. On the plus side, once that drum goes, it is a lot less painful and he is doing way better today.

Oh no! That's terrible. Poor guy. I'm glad he's better. That is so hard, dealing with that kind of pain. You just want to take it away from them.

Kyla, I'm so sorry!! Poor little buddy. I was just saying something to my DH the other day about the pain of a toothache and his response was "tooth pain is nothing compared to the pain of an ear infection" I don't think I've ever had one but he had some really bad ones as a kid/teenager and even a couple as an adult and still remembers the pain. I hope your little guy heals fast!

My youngest will be 2 on the 24th of this month. We aren't having a big party...just a few friends over for dinner and to hang out and let the kids play. When my oldest turns 5 in August I think we are going to have the party at an indoor trampoline park. We went there not long ago to check it out and she had the time of her life. Since the bounce house places are so overdone here for kids parties I figured it would be fun to do something a little different like that. I want to do the pottery painting thing, too, when she gets older. I've taken her a couple of times just her and I and we love doing that. I used to work at one of those places before I was married (as a 2nd job) and the little girl parties were always so cute.

As for dinner? oh I usually decide that when I walk in the door. At 6:30pm. Yeah, pretty bad. Not a good planner over here on that front and I hate cooking. I think I have some salmon in the freezer that I can have DH thaw in cold water before I get home, and I can throw on some pasta and veggies.

    Aww, poor thing!

This is my favorite time of year to live in TN. It is fun to listen to my family in WNY complain about how sick they are of winter, and have Spring be in full bloom here. I am getting my garden ready while they are still buried in snow.

My 5 year old will be 6 in April (this momma is not dealing with that well at all) we are not doing a party this year she does not like all the attention on her. So we are taking her and her little BFF to build a bear and then dinner. She wants to take diving lessons so she is getting that for a gift and that will be her spring activity.

All of these party ideas sound awesome! Melissa, I've been wanting to do a "Paint your own pottery" day just for myself, so what a cool idea to have it as a party for your daughter. We did a big party for T last year (with a pirate and everything!) so this year I think we're going to try to do a little more laid back. There is a really cool park not too far from our house (I mean, REALLY cool, it has a climbing wall and water fountains that shoot out of the side walk, and a huge slide built into the side of a hill, and.....) so I was thinking about just inviting everyone to bring their kiddos to the park for cake and playing.

Kyla - Your poor DS! I have heard that having the eardrum burst is actually a relief because it relieves the pressure, but it sure sounds painful. I hope he heals up quick!

Dinner tonight is going to be takeout, I think. T has swim lessons after work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I usually try to cook extra on Mondays and Wednesdays so we can just eat leftovers, but my plans yesterday got totally messed up and we ended up cleaning out the last of the leftovers from the fridge for dinner last night. So, I think we're going to have to suck it up and order some takeout tonight. I'm kind of craving Mexican food anyway, so maybe we'll make that happen.

T takes yoga too, and he really likes it! His preschool does optional after school enrichment programs each afternoon, and yoga is on Monday afternoons. I love it because he comes home and totally busts into downward facing dog all of the time.

Aw Kyla, that sucks about the popped eardrum. Claire's had 2 and they're pretty awful. And yep about the snow. While we're having a meltdown right now, there's still a fair bit. I'm just waiting for April - the month when we have the MOST snow. Seriously. All you guys who aren't crazy about snow, don't move to Alberta. I've seen blizzards in May and snow in July. Kyla probably has too.
