I am not 100% sad about the snow and freezing temps, though I am refusing to shovel in protest, cause I saw my first centipede in the house the other day when things had started to melt. I dont mind most bugs, but centipedes creep me out! Apparently they need a lot of moisture to live, so they only venture out of the crawl space during spring melt when the ground is totally saturated with water. It tends to be really dry here other than that and they go back into hibernation. Anyways, I am hoping that this late freeze killed them all! Hahahahahaha (that was an evil laugh by the way).

Today my Aunt and Uncle came and made designs for a whole new kitchen. My parents are paying for the Amish near where they live to make us cupboards. My Aunt and Uncle live an hour and a half away and are having cupboards made as well. They will be done in the same order and my Aunt and Uncle will deliver ours when they get theirs in. They should be really nice and add a lot of value to our house.

So cute! How can you eat those little oinkers?

I prefer my food to be anonymous.

I planted one of my raised garden beds this evening. I am trying planting tomatoes from seeds. If it does not work out, there is still plenty of time to do them over from plants. I also planted lettuce, onions, and carrots. I have two other raised beds that I will plant a little later.

I know. This is going to be hard for me, i can already tell. It doesn't matter that they get huge and not-cute. But I can do it, i just don't think i will be around on slaughtering day.

I'm worried though, its going to be so cold tonight! They are in the shelter, which is closed on all four sides and have a heat lamp....but its supposed to be really cold. The lady who breeds them told us they should be fine...its just in my nature to worry.

This spring has not been very springy yet.

Kim, that's awesome! They're very cute. I suppose I'm not supposed to say that, I also like my food anonymous. But still, very cool.

Good luck with your planting, Bonita. I have a black thumb. Plants in my care are doomed. Also I think I'd have to enjoy the outdoors more to be a good gardener.

The kids have been super fun today, playing well, being funny and fun to hang out with, and I have been baking. I added cocoa powder and made a few alterations to my trademark banana yogurt muffins and they turned out great, and I just took a coconut banana bread loaf out of the oven. We'll see about that one, haven't tested it yet. We had a lot of overripe bananas to get rid of.

Tomorrow I will do something with the Meyer lemons I still have.

I also decided to go back on Weight Watchers yesterday. I did so well on it, lost 40 pounds, and then my mom got sick and I just gave in. I gained 20 pounds back! It's just been very hard dealing with her loss, and it leaves me raw and empty, especially at night when everything slows down and I don't have things to distract me anymore So I eat! But enough is enough.

-- I started out with a very black thumb. If I was a settler I would have starved long ago. I have tried having a garden every year (With a few exceptions) for the last 10 years. My first year was a complete wash. Nothing edible at all. I learned from my mistakes, asked questions and the next year a few things grew. I learned from my mistakes, asked questions, and a few more things grew the next year. Each year I have learned more about gardening, and have better success. Last year I was able to get quite a few things out of my garden. I also do not love the outdoors. It is a struggle to make myself go outside. The garden is a great way for me to get outside and get some exercise and sunlight.--

-- I am an emotional eater as well. It is so hard. I have lost 40 lbs over the last 3 years as well, but it is a constant fight to keep it off and to try to lose more. I am so very sorry for your loss. --

Thanks Bonita. I didn't mean for that to be such a confessional! Ah, life.

Dave & Nathaniel went off to church this morning so it's just Juliet and me! Church is about 45 minutes away and Dave plays music there and helps them set up, so they won't be back until after lunch. I think we'll go for a long walk since it looks like it's going to warm up earlier in the day today.

The kids and I have family yoga this afternoon and then I stay for meditation. I like my Sundays.
