Has anyone else started their gardens yet? I am excited things are finally starting to grow. I have two nice rows of lettuce growing, a row of carrots and a pot of carrots, Tomato plants (one with several flowers), onions, peas, turnips, watermelon, sunflower, and some zucchini and butternut squash. My cucumbers did not come up for some reason, so I plan to go buy some plants this weekend. The girls are also excited to see things grow.

No gardener am I. I just eat the things other people grow.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us. Going to a day camp open house on Saturday and then getting ready for a quick turnaround trip to Los Angeles, I'm going to a one-day conference. I leave Sunday afternoon and come back on the red eye on Monday night, arriving in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Lots to do before that too.

Plus of course I have to bake something to bring with me.

One of my best friends died last night. I am not sure what happened. Her mother died recently. The autopsy will be Monday. I am not sure if she overdosed or something natural happened. At 35, I do not know what it could be that was natural even though she was not in great health. It has been such a shock. I talked to her on the phone or e-mailed her every day. Sometimes two or three times a day.

So sorry it is very hard when it is unexpected like that. You and her family are in my prayers.

I Got an update from fuchia's husband she hasn't had access to a computer so wanted me to let everyone know that he made it through the operation ok. He said that the epidural wasn't done correctly so he was in a lot of pain after they brought him out of the OR but is doing better now except for a lot of aching.

I'm glad things went relatively good please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as he has a rough year or so ahead of him of chemo treatments and while his leg heals.
