I do not know. My daughter's is hereditary. When I was visiting my family last June my brother put Alyssa's glasses on for fun. He could see out of them fine. Their RX is very similar. My Aunt's is the same.

I am not planning to get them now, but I am curious at what age most people do get them.

I am curious when each of your children are finishing school for the school year? (Those of you who do not go year round)

We have 10 more lessons to go. At this time of year it is hard to keep chugging along.

Our kids are in 3 different schools, one their last day is May 22 and the others don't get out until June 7. It is really annoying because one is a charter school and they start and end the school year earlier than all the other schools in the area. It seems like they could try and match their schedule a little better to the other schools.

We started the first week in August, so I already have 180 days in, but we need to finish up the work still. I am ready for summer break, then starting new again in August. I will also be doing preschool with Caitlyn so it will be more involved to have three. Also with Alyssa going into 3rd grade, her classes are going to start taking a lot more time.

I'm not sure....Elizabeth is in preschool and they don't have to do the full 180 even though it's public school. I know the regular students are going until 6/26 I think because of snow days.

I got contacts at 23. I would not recommend them for anyone pre-high school. When I worked in optical the younger than HS kids just didn't get the enormity of cleaning or even how to properly use disposables.

Thanks. I have never had glasses, so it is not something I have ever come across. It would be nice to have an age to give her. When you are ___ years old, you can get contacts.

I missed the contacts question! I got them when i was a sophomore in high school. So 15ish i guess. I did have disposables which made it a little bit easier, but I still probably wouldn't let my kids do it before high school.
