I don't care how many people are waiting to adopt a baby. It's not my job to see to it that they use me to carry a child to hand over to them.

    Our concerns should be:
    1. Providing prenatal care for women who want to continue their pregnancies.
    2. Providing appropriate services for women who want to give their child up for adoption.
    3. Providing adequate and safe facilities for those who don't want to or physically can't continue a pregnancy for any reason.

We can't rely on charities as many of them are strapped as it is for their other causes. It should be of our utmost concern that all people in the US have the same access to the same legal services. You don't have to have one and you don't have to agree with it but as someone who is looking out for others you should be concerned with their safety.

There are thousands who would give anything to adopt a white baby. There are babies of color waiting for parents. You want a white baby? Waiting list. You don't care about race? Take your pick. My dad adopted my youngest brother & sister in record time and they kept asking if he wanted more as they were desperate to give a good home to these unwanted babies.

Trust me, there's no baby shortage for people who want to adopt.

Remind me again, Gloria, how many babies have you adopted? How many poor women have you taken into your home? Oh yeah, that would be NONE. Why does a clump of cells that have no emotional awareness, no sense of pain, and no way to sustain itself outside my body get to trump MY EXISTING LIFE, my awareness, my pain, and my emotional suffering? Who the hell are you to tell me that I don't count in the equation?

It must be all those brown Tennessee babies available for easy adoptions since people in TN don't abort. Oh wait.......

In my experience most of the conservative anti abortion people I see or have known don't have much money. Frankly I'd be terrified if I had to rely on their resources to support me and my baby. A lot of em seem to have a hard time supporting themselves. I'd like to see a study of the Bible Belt conservatives- since that is where this crushing the abortion clinics thing is such a problem - and their average income. Just for fun. I'm on my phone now but will look it up later or maybe someone else could.

Sorry I don't believe there are black infants that won't get adopted in the U.S. when people are going all the way to Ethiopia and other African countries to adopt black babies. If a black mother puts her child up for adoption at birth it will be adopted. The problem is with our Foster Care system. Once a child gets put in foster care it makes the adoption process much harder and some people don't want to go through the hassle of adoption through foster care.

In my opinion, this is what it all boils down to. Is an unborn baby a life? I can respect the belief that an unborn baby is not a real live baby and just a clump of cells and therefore is ok to remove. I don't agree, but I can respect that. I can not understand however, people who will say that their baby is a real live human baby, and that it is still ok to remove it. If there was a large portion of the country that believed it was ok to kill all babies under the age of 2, you would not be interested in making clean safe places for them to kill their babies. Even if you knew they would do it with or without those clean safe places. Again, IMO, it boils down to if you believe a baby at 23w6d that has not been born yet is any different than my friends baby who was born at 24 weeks. If you believe something magical happened over night that made one a clump of cells, and the other a baby than I can understand the POV.

As with any debate on this subject, I wanted to say from the beginning. I believe abortion should not be legal, but that does not mean I hate or dislike everyone that has had one.

Well actually I am caring for 4 kids that aren't my own right now, but I have seriously considered doing foster care once some of the older kids are gone. My brother and his wife are caring for 3 foster children as we speak. And some of these babies that are being aborted could sustain life on their own or are only DAYS away for being able to do so. That is the reason this man is on trial for murder.
