No one is saying that wanting people to have the ability to buy a gun is buying into NRA's fear. It's arming every man, woman and child with one and saying that is the only way to stay safe that is buying into their fear.

Sure they are! Look at the language he uses- warning us all about the monsters lurking out there just waiting to prey on us if we aren't protected by guns- they want a gun in every hand just like the dairy lobby wants a milk I every kids school lunch or the sugar lobby wants a soda machine in every school. They want babies weaned on violence, so that people like you grow up brainwashed an literally not able to conceive of a different reality. Sadly, amongst a huge set of Americans, its working.

In Central Mass., gun dealers can't keep up with demand - Worcester Telegram & Gazette - telegram.com

From an article about gun sales increasing.

State data on sales of new firearms in Massachusetts since the Newtown, Conn., shootings earlier this month weren't available by press time. But the anecdotal reports of a major spike in gun sales here and across the country apparently are being driven by current gun owners, as area police chiefs report no appreciable increase in applications for new gun permits.

Yes, thaTs what I'm saying, you are proving my point. People who are buying his rhetoric and fear are answering his call like simpleminded little children, all while fattening the coffers of the NRA (like nancy Lanza did!) and...... Well..... Look what good it did her. The rest of us just stand back appalled and shocked, not having been brought up on such rhetoric and brainwashing it has no effect on us. Our normal, logical, intelligent response is to find a real solution to this tragedy, to mourn with the victims, to put their needs first right now, and to actively seek real solutions to this problem. It's so obvious, it's shocking you can't see what the article you posted shows.

I love this: Baltimore gun buyback takes in 460 guns in wake of Conn. shooting - Baltimore Sun

In total, 461 guns were turned in and for each firearm turned in, the person received a $100 Kliens/Shoprite grocery store gift card.

It shows that current gun owners are buying guns before any new bans go into effect. This does nothing to prove that people are buying into" that every person should be armed", because if it did ......people would be applying for new gun permits and thats not happening.

I've never argued the point that people are buying INTO his lobby, simply pointing out what his lobby is. It obviously isn't working on a certain demographic, it isn't working on my particular social/economic demographic, but it is working on the demographic he already has sold his propaganda hook, line, and sinker, too. So right now he is just sitting back and counting his money (as are the arms dealers). "Good gun owners" like Nancy Lanza are probably out stuffing guns into their pockets willy nilly "just in case" the big bad government comes to take them away from us.................(oh wait, that good gun owner is dead), but you know, the other good gun owners are............. Sometimes in their fury to protect some amendment that I bet a frighteningly large fraction of them cannot even read, they also neglect to remember their civic duty. Nancy Lanza didn't keep hers. A FRIGHTENING amount of gun owners don't. Don't kid yourself.

...and meanwhile 20 babies and their innocent teachers and administrators are dead. And probably 100 Americans have died from guns since Newtown. BUT, lets not talk about that little "mess", shall we?

I can only speak from my little corner of the world. But from where I sit on my peaceful couch at the beach as my kids put a puzzle together with their dad and we drink some wine..........I have to say that I think that it's a bunch of scary people running out and buying more guns. I won't use the word crazy as I know that can draw strong emotions........but scary. People who I am scared of. People who I really hope I never, ever encounter on a daily basis. Because I don't want their worldview to even taint mine.
