Schools. Malls. Universities. Movie theaters. Homes with guns. Street corners. Inner cities. Suburbs. Where kids wear hoodies. Where kids don't. What do you mean?

Do you you want me to post more stats like I did earlier in the debate on how wildly out of sync America is with other developed nations on how many of our people are dying of gun violence?

Oh yes, since this shooting happened here in the NE.

We do have guns here too.

Just no one I know is going on and on about getting stockpiles of guns up here.

because you guys use emotion instead of logic in general. Logic tells you they are going to use your emotions to pass through a bullcrap bill that is going to make it hard for law abiding citizens to practice their second amendment rights. Emotions tell you to help the idiots promote that as a good idea.

Thats a REALLY broad sweeping statement, especially from someone who doesn't know "us". Who is "you guys"? Everyone who disagrees with you? Everyone who argues on behalf of gun control? Everyone in the NE? Just Jessica and I?

I could point you to a few of your recent, fairly curse word filled and emotional posts in which I could easily argue the same of you. If you'd like me to link everyone who may forget let me know.

And who are the "idiots"? Government? Anyone who would argue for gun control? You know, I know you think that I am mocking, but I will say that your posts are really full of demeaning language. You should get into running our country if you are so much smarter than everyone who is currently in office. Are you qualified?

OMG. Do broad generalizations hurt your poor wittle feelings? Don't dish it out if you can't take it. Don't mothers in the North teach you guys anything?

If you read the comment I was replying to, it will answer your other questions.

No, I'm not qualified to be a politician. I don't lie very well, I am overly emotional (but Thank God I usually don't make decisions when I'm in that state- you guys should come down here and watch how that works), and I not only worked as a cocktail waitress but also tried out Ectasy so have no chance of getting elected even if I did want the job. That doesn't mean I can't call a bunch of idiots idiots. I'm perfectly qualified to do that.

I'd love to see the stats for another country who has a federal government that ignores their immigration problem and pretends like everyone crossing the border is just trying to feed their kids and are raising those kids to be productive citizens. And also pretends like people can be rehabilitated and sends back out violent criminals and violent mentally ill people so that they get a "chance" so the liberals can feel like they did everything they can to help them. And believe that criminals only deserve a slap in the wrist for the first few offenses so people aren't even a little scared to do things other countries will kill them for; because those criminals were raised in a bad home and they deserve a "chance". Emotion instead of Logic.

It has to be some sort of debate board epic moment when an adult types to another adult in baby talk. I don't really have anything kind to say from here, so I will just let your statement stand for itself as to what our mothers taught us.

    Enough back and forth.

I would like to remind everyone again (as I did on the other gun thread) that we are actually all on the same side here. Everyone on this board is a mother that probably cried her eyes out the day of the Sandy Hook massacre, thinking about those beautiful babies, and thinking about our own beautiful babies and how vulnerable they are. NO ONE on this board is evil or an idiot, and no one deserves to be spoken to in that way. This is a debate board. A couple things about that: a good debate, by neccessity, must have 2 sides. If we all agreed on this stuff, we might be more warm and cuddly to each other, but we wouldn't have any interesting debates. If you enjoy debating, take a moment to thank all of the people that disagree with you. If we all agreed, this board would be boring as hell. What a good debate is NOT is a knock down drag out argument where we get to disrespect each other and throw personal jabs and insults at each other. If you're not debating the topic, you're not debating. That's called bickering (when I'm being generous, when I'm not being generous I have other names for it.) Maybe someday PO will have a General Bicker Board, but that day is not today. Debate the topic, or gracefully excuse yourself. No more bickering.

For those who didn't believe it would happen....

Law enforcement officials from a New York region where a local paper published a map identifying gun owners say prisoners are using the information to intimidate guards.

Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, who spoke at a news conference flanked by other county officials, said the Journal News' decision to post an online map of names and addresses of handgun owners Dec. 23 has put law enforcement officers in danger.

"They have inmates coming up to them and telling them exactly where they live. That's not acceptable to me," Falco said, according to Newsday.

Robert Riley, an officer with the White Plains Police Department and president of its Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, agreed.

"You have guys who work in New York City who live up here. Now their names and addresses are out there, too," he said adding that there are 8,000 active and retired NYPD officers currently living in Rockland County.

Local lawmakers also say that they intend to introduce legislation that prevents information about legal gun owners from being released to the public.

As long as the guard is home, maybe they can take out some of the trash for the rest of us and save some taxpayer money.
