    Yea, Its me!!!

Are you a SAHM or a WOHM? If you WOH, what do you do? I stay home most of the time, but have just started working again as a substitute teacher this month. My goal is to work 2 days a week, but it has been slow the last few weeks. Someone send some cold germs our way please
How long have you been with your DH? How did you meet? We have been married 5 years, and lived together probably another 4 ish, dated a year before that. We actually met in grade 10 in highschool, and we both totally had a thing for each other, but my good friend had a huge crush on him (thats how we met) so, being a good friend, I backed off and he dated her until grade 12. We stayed really good friends and dated for about 3 months after graduation, but when my sister had an accident and broke her back I realized he wasnt the one I wanted with me. It just wasnt our time. So we broke up and he went away to school, but we still stayed really good friends. After he came back (a year later) it just seemed like one or the other of us was always dating someone else. Long story short (ish) we finally connected one night and have been together since!
What is one thing that you like to do to unwind? I confess I am a total TV aholic. I love to watch my shows, and get way too involved. Luckily with work and kids I dont get to watch much. I also love to read and can go through way too many books, way too fast. I had to stop reading from my kindle cause it was costing me too much to buy all the books.
Do you have any hobbies? I have recently learned to knit and now I am addicted! I just finished my first project, a neck warmer (cowl) for DD, and was very gratified when a friend asked me to make her one. My next big project is going to be a toque for DH if I can figure out how to knit in the round I also like to cross stitch, but dont do it much anymore, I find it too hard with the kids around.

Common cold virus, we're fresh out at my house. However, croup is alive and well in our domicile.

I know you're Canadian, or at least that you live in Canada currently! What's your favorite part of the country and why?

I also love to cross stich (or did, before kids). Do you have a finished stitching you're really proud of? What is it of? How long did it take you?

In your highschool yearbook you were voted "Most Likely to ___________" - what?

Yuck! Croup is horrible. You can keep it. DD got croup her first 2 Christmases, until we finally threw out our Christmas tree on Christmas eve the second year. She cleared right up after that and has never had it again. I think it was maybe a pollen allergy?

I know you're Canadian, or at least that you live in Canada currently! What's your favorite part of the country and why? I am Canadian! I grew up on Vancouver island, and we love it there! Hoping to one day retire somewhere on the northern part of the island. I wish I could raise my kids there, but its way too expensive to live. I also love the Canadian rockies/foothills (that is probably where we will be headed next, great camping and hiking), and northern BC is definitely growing on me. I am even looking forward to winter this year. No snow yet, but we just had a flurry this afternoon.

I also love to cross stich (or did, before kids). Do you have a finished stitching you're really proud of? What is it of? How long did it take you? I did one a few years ago for my sister that is a wizard on a black backing. I added beads and metallic thread to it. It hung in my nieces room for years to 'keep the monsters away'. It probably took me about 6 months.

In your highschool yearbook you were voted "Most Likely to ___________" - what? We didnt have those in our yearbook, but I did a summer program the year after grad where I was voted 'best smile'. I was also voted most unique in grade ten.

If you could live anywhere in the world for 1 year, where would you go? Why?

If you won a million dollars, what would you spend it on?

    What's for dinner tonight?

What is your favorite thing to cook? What is your favorite thing to eat?

If you could have one food item be completely fat and calorie free what would it be?

What is your favorite room in your house?

If you could live anywhere in the world for 1 year, where would you go? Why? Somewhere in Europe. Neither my husband or I have done a lot of traveling, but we often talk about him getting a position in an embassy (Paris is my first choice). We would be there for two years. I would love to just live somewhere different for awhile.

If you won a million dollars, what would you spend it on?A vacation! Honestly, we would pay off debts, buy a new car, probably buy a condo or something close to our parents, and visit family more. I dont think it would change our lives drastically as DH loves his job so we wouldnt pick up and move or anything, but it would make things so much easier (and I would not work for awhile longer). Or maybe we would look for a transfer to the island since we could afford to buy a home there.

What's for dinner tonight? I dont know, what are you having? I am horrible at dinners (good thing Im a SAHM and not a housewife) I am always trying to decide last minute what to make. If DH is coming home, probably grilled sausages and rice, if he isnt, then pancakes and scrambled eggs. The kids and I love breakfast for dinner, but DH isnt a fan.

What is your favorite thing to cook? What is your favorite thing to eat? I love to eat nachos, cheesecake, pizza, enchiladas.....the list goes on. I dont 'love' to cook, but DD and I make a mean pizza and my husband loves my enchiladas, which makes them gratifying to make.

If you could have one food item be completely fat and calorie free what would it be? Bacon. I love bacon, but we rarely buy it anymore cause it is so not good for you. I would eat bacon everyday if i could.

What is your favorite room in your house? I dont love my house, but I like that the kitchen and living room are open to each other so Im not stuck in the kitchen by myself. Mostly I just wish it had more rooms though

Our families are in Nanaimo, so that is where we usually end up. I enjoy the parksville area, and we often camp at Rathtrevor. If I had my choice though we would go up to Port McNeil or Port Alice though. That is where I would love to live.
What is your favorite book? Hmmm....thats a hard one.....I love to read, and have read so many. I have loved Robin Mckinley for a long time, especially 'Beauty'. I recently read 'Room' by Emma Donoghue and really enjoyed it. Some of my favorite authors are Tamora Pierce, Jane Lindskold, J.D Robb. Thats just off the top of my head

What is your favorite movie? Moulin Rouge

What is the last movie you've watched? Dont laugh! I watched 'She's the Man' on TV the other night. I actually really enjoy those feel good chick movies and sneak them in when DH is working nights

What's your favorite sort of pampering (facial, massage, mani/pedi, hot bath, etc)?

If you could learn another language, which would it be?

What do you feel is the hardest thing about parenting?

    Best part of parenting?

What is one accomplishment you're proud of (outside of parenting)?

    Favorite dessert?

I think I'm remembering correctly that are TTC. Do you have a number in mind of how many kids would be ideal for your family?

What do you appreciate most about your husband?

What household chore do you enjoy most? Least?

What's your favorite sort of pampering (facial, massage, mani/pedi, hot bath, etc)? Definitely a massage, but since I get those quite often at home (I have my husband convinced it is a form of foreplay), if I can afford to go to the 'spa', I love getting a pedi. I have horrible ugly feet, but they always manage to make them pretty for me.

If you could learn another language, which would it be? I speak some french. I have been fluent in my past (about 12 years ago) but have unfortunately allowed myself to get horribly out of practice. Although I did freak out a french immersion class with my skills today I would love to get better at that though. French would open so many doors for me job wise. As for learning something completely different.....I dont know. I would love to live abroad, so I am pretty much open to learning whatever I need to buy my groceries.

What do you feel is the hardest thing about parenting? For me, it is being MOM 24/7. Even when they are sleeping I am on call. No other 'job' is like that and I find that the pressure gets to me sometimes. It doesn't help that my husband works so freaking much so I am IT alot.

Best part of parenting? I guess I would have to say watching them grow into the person they are going to be. I love watching their personalities develop and how different they are from anyone else.

But on a day to day way, I love the cuddles, nurses, kisses and I love you moms

What is one accomplishment you're proud of (outside of parenting)? This is going to sound really corny/old fashioned, but as proud as I am of the things I have accomplished, what I am most proud of is that I have stood by my husband while he is chasing his dream. I am the most proud of this because it is one of the most emotionally difficult things that I have ever done. It meant spending the last 3 month of my first pregnancy, our daughters birth, and the first 3 months of her life alone, moving over 12 hours from any family and friends, making a life in a place I know we will have to leave one day soon, dealing with his stupid hours and last minute overtime, changing our schedules to suit the needs of his stupid department, and spending more nights than I care to count alone, and now we are facing a transfer to yet another place where I dont want to go, dont know anyone, and wont be able to put down any real roots.

As a caveat, I only really see these things as difficult on nights like tonight when I am feeling sad and bitter because he is supposed to be home and is still working...I could go on and on.

Favorite dessert? Anything chocolate or cheesecakey, although I dont really like chocolate cheesecake.

I think I'm remembering correctly that are TTC. Do you have a number in mind of how many kids would be ideal for your family? We are trying to conceive. We have 2 right now and are trying for our third. At this point I think we will stop there, although I have always said I will only agree to one more at a time. My husband is actually the one who wants a big family. I want another one in theory, and will be ecstatic if it happens, but every once in awhile reality comes crashing down (usually when DD and DS are screaming at each other) and I wonder if we should really have any more. Anyways, I dont want my kids to be to far apart, age wise, so if we arent preggers by February I am planning to call it a day. At this point I am happy with that decision, but February is still a long way off.

What do you appreciate most about your husband? Tonight.....hmmmmm....If I answer this I will stop being pissed off, and I am in a real good mad right now

OK, in a general sense, it is the way that he loves us with everything he is. I complain about him being gone, but he offered to give up his dream because I was preggers and he didnt want to leave me alone....and he would have done it. The reason he works so much is for us. He truly belives he can make the world better for his kids. He is an awesome father. When he is with the kids they get his all and they know it. And he always makes an effort to be there for me. He gave me a 'day off' on sunday so I could be lazy while he entertained the kids cause he could tell his work hours were wearing me down, and then he came home from work 'early' monday night just to spend a few hours with me. Not to mention, last week, he came home at 7 after working since 8 so I could go to book club, and then he went back to work when I got home and worked until 3am because he had to prep for court, but didnt want me to miss my night out.

What household chore do you enjoy most? Least?
I hate them all. Honestly. I have gotten a lot better at doing them since DH and I moved in together, but I dont enjoy any of them.
