How was everyone's Christmas?

I am exhausted as we're all fighting off (or succumbing to) colds but we had fun.

Juliet has been feverish for days but was so happy today that she had fun, didn't konk out until a few minutes ago and I'm letting her nap for a bit. Nathaniel, Dave & I are all coughing.

But we had a great time. We opened our presents together in the morning, had a nice breakfast, and then family and friends came over at lunch time. We served a lovely bagel brunch with a TON of homemade cookies and treats, and shared gifts, and hung out, and now it's just the four of us again and we are being quiet and winding down. The house looks crazy. Poor Dave -- I am back to work tomorrow and he's on his own with all this.

And I think I did really well with all the gifts I chose for people. My husband loved everything I got him, and he's the hardest to shop for. And I love what he got me, he truly picked out special things that would mean something to me.

The kids had a great day. Mission accomplished.

How was your holiday?

I'm sorry you've all been sick, but it sounds like you still had a great Christmas. :)

We had a very nice one. We went to my mom and dad's house at 9 am. My brother and SIL were there too. We opened presents, and everyone got nice thoughtful gifts (EXCEPT my dad got T a microphone and an amplifier because T loves to sing through my dad's mic - my dad is a musician - and I am already picturing how much that is going to drive us nuts...:lol:) We ate breakfast, and then came home to rest and relax for a couple of hours. We are due back around 4:30 to begin making the enchiladas. Since I have GD I will be having something more like an "enchilada bowl" (meat, cheese, veggies, and sauce baked with a tiny bit of corn tortilla) and salad, but everyone else will be having homemade enchiladas and rice and beans as is our family tradition. That's about it. It has been a nice day. :)

We had a nice day here. The kids had a great time. I was different being away from family, but we still had a nice day.

We had an ok day. I really missed my family (mom and sister), and they ended up getting together themselves, so I was a bit bummed to be out of that, but that's ok.
Was a bit of a bummer passing one more christmas without any luck in the baby department, every year I think it would be a fun time to announce we are expecting.
But, it was a nice quiet day, and we all enjoyed our time together in our nice little quiet family :) The kids loved the things we got them, and we had a nice little turkey for dinner.

Laurie - I hope everyone feels better really soon!! This has been a wicked season for colds around here so far this year.

Alissa - that sounds like an awesome tradition!!!

Laurie~sorry you are all sick. My kids had some bad colds but that didn't stop them. I thought I was getting it but it is holding off thank goodness. Glad your brunch went well. I too, was happy with the things I gave (sometimes I am very rushed and buy something just to buy it) but this year I started early and took my time.

Bonita and Susan~sorry you were away from your families. It makes it harder but can still have a nice day!

We had a great day although an exhausting 4 days together. Lots of presents and my house looks like it threw up toys lol. I have to work today so that was hard as I would have loved to just cuddle with my girls and hubby.

Really nice though I'm incredibly exhausted. The kids had a wonderful day and we had our most peaceful and relaxed christmas morning over ~ my family here in the AM then the day with his family. We are off to a boxing day party in a few hours and I have a fantasy of wearing my pajamas. I just cant stand the thought of putting on high heels again. We head down to the beach with a few other couples for NY's ~ so this non stop party/eat/party/eat cycle seems to be continuing, at least through the NY. DH surprised me with tickets to see the broadway production of Les Mis on Jan 3rd with some of our closest friends.....but I hope life returns to some routine and normalcy come Jan 4!!!

Laurie I can feel the sick coming ~ DS1 has croup, the baby is snotty, and now my throat hurts.......my liver hurts too but thats entirely self created :)

We face the possibility of moving to the left coast due to DH's job at some point and it breaks my heart to think about being so far from family ~ i'm sorry for those of you who were away from family, it's hard.

It is definitely hard to be away from family. Most of my siblings went to BC to be with my Mom...we tried Skyping on the iPad but it was not really very effective.

So my son has a sinus infection and my daughter just needs stronger medicine. Dave took them to the doctor today. Oy! I'm going to leave work early so I can go tend to them before I go to Wednesday night yoga.
